We’ve hosted people from many walks of life since we started renting out this property. Getting to know a little about our guests before booking helps us feel comfortable about who will be staying in our home and has actually been one of the most interesting parts of the process. So, if you don’t mind sharing a few general tidbits in your booking request, like where you're from, what line of work you’re in, what brings you to Shreveport, etc., we’d love to hear a little about you and your group… Thanks!
NOTE: WE DO NOT ALLOW PETS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, even if they are cute, well-trained, hairless, or will "just be visiting for a little while" with local friends or family. Violation of this rule will FORFEIT THE ENTIRE SECURITY DEPOSIT for extra cleaning fees and rule violation penalty and represents grounds for immediate eviction with no refund. Though we are pet-lovers ourselves, we had to impose this strict rule in consideration of our other guests, our housekeeping staff, and our own family members, some of whom have severe pet-related allergies. Accordingly, there will be no exceptions made. Thank you for your understanding and compliance.
Description: Expansive glass doors in the dining area and master bedroom are fitted with remote-controlled shades and offer a beautiful view of Cross Lake. The gourmet kitchen has a wonderful 4 burner 48” Wolf stove (gas) with a double griddle and two convection ovens (electric), an oversized Wolf vent hood, an oversized chef’s pantry, separate, full-size Subzero refrigerator and freezer, a separate soft-crunch (Sonic) ice-maker, a quiet Bosch dishwasher, a motion-activated (touchless) faucet and a foot (toe) activated disposal.
The gorgeous waterfall-style island between the kitchen and den is built with custom stone and has 3 bar stools. A new dining room table that seats 10 was added in August 2019.
The den features a glass-enclosed linear gas fireplace [currently out of service] and hidden audio-visual storage area, making for a great entertainment space. The 65" 4K LED smart TV is equipped with Xfinity cable and a DVD player, and can access the usual streaming services.
The primary suite features a huge bedroom with king bed and spacious en suite with oversized tub, multi-head shower and L-shaped closet that is to die for. Each of the other three bedrooms has its own job-built tile glass-enclosed showers, custom stone countertops or sleek pedestal sink, and high-end fixtures.
Hot water for the entire house is unlimited with a gas-fired tankless water heater. Lighting throughout is high efficiency, low maintenance LED cans or fluorescent. Sleek, modern, ceiling fans are in each living area.
The double decks on the back of the house as well as the two-slip covered boat dock and pier are all built with light-colored maintenance-free aluminum decking that is almost always cool enough to walk on with bare feet. Deck and dock both have see-through cable railing for unencumbered views. And the outside shower with hot and cold water is great for cooling off or enjoying a fresh rinse after a day in or on the lake.

Everything was good. It was nice to have en suite bathrooms. The view was amazing. It would have been nice to have the light switches labeled and the remotes, so we knew which operated which lights. We did not know how to operate the fireplace or fire pit. The high end kitchen appliances were amazing! The ice maker was a hit! The property was peaceful and quiet. Having garage access was much appreciated. The large showers were great. The closets were more than accommodating for all our conference outfits. We would definitely rent here again. The owner was very pleasant about the few maintenance issues.
Enjoyed staying at your place and spending time with our family. Perfect having this next door to our family so we could float between docks between taking the boat out.

Beautiful Home, with Great evening and beautiful morning views. We plan to come once a year. Home was very Clean. The Hosts are very expeditious to respond. Great experience
This is the second time that we have stayed at this property. It’s clean and inviting. It’s spacious and comfortable. The views in the morning and evening are spectacular.
Truly a luxury home. Fish off the dock or even the top deck (we brought our own equipment). Three miles from Orlandeux’s for the BEST shrimp and grits and just a few miles in the other direction for boat rental. The home was well appointed, air worked great (important in the summer heat), very roomy, and view was amazing. Will stay here again for sure!

Glad you had a great stay, and thanks for the great review! We love and recommend Orlandeaux's as well!
Very nice property we had no problems with anything on the property, except some of the outlets inside the house in certain rooms and a few on the outdoor deck did not work other than that. Everything was great.

Thanks for the maintenance advisory! I had an electrician take a look at the outlet issue and he said that some GFCI outlets had tripped, likely due to a power surge. He replaced and reset them just to be safe, and everything is working now. Ah, the joys of home ownership!
Beautiful upper floor with great view of the lake. The house was clean, convenient and great for our family reunion. Home owners were very accommodating and easy to reach.
This was an absolutely amazing place to stay for our family vacation. Super convenient to groceries and necessities as well as quick drive to downtown. Highly recommend.
We had an amazing trip. House was more than what we needed. Will return for a future visit.

About the host
Hosted by Joey and Tatsiana Hagmann
I am a retired chemical engineer from Tulane and my wife is a linguist and technical translator from Belarus. We don't spend much time in Shreveport anymore (we have another home in Beaumont), so we decided to offer up our Cross Lake home for others to enjoy. Try a piece of paradise!
Why they chose this property
I always wanted to live on the water. This house was a huge fixer-upper in a great spot on the lake, so I bought it and had it completely re-done in late 2014 with a clean, contemporary style. My designer and I worked hard to make it as beautiful, energy-efficient and maintenance-free as possible, and I think we nailed it! Book a stay and enjoy the first class amenities of the Cross Lake Contemporary!
What makes this property unique
If you like spending time on the water and enjoy viewing or photographing wildlife in a refuge-like setting, you'll enjoy this house. Bringing your boat or kayak? Take it for a short hop over to Buzzard Island or explore the shores of the 8,500+ acres of Cross Lake!
My daughter and I took all the wildlife photos in this listing from locations on the property with a modest zoom lens as noted on each picture. There is almost always some bird and turtle activity going on at the house. In addition to the wildlife captured in our photographs, we've also seen a bald eagle and several other species I've never seen before. I can sit on the upper deck for hours...
One of my favorite wildlife highlights is when the hundreds of white pelicans (and friends) herd the baitfish in toward shore to feed (seasonal - Dec/Jan usually). Families of mallard ducks often swim up and down the shoreline (seasonal). You never know what you're going to see here!
If fishing is your thing, the lake has bass (and tournaments) but probably has more catfish. So far, my father-in-law holds the record for most catfish caught in one day off our dock. They were very tasty!
We're just half a mile from a nice public (free) boat launch and the Shreveport Yacht Club, so bring your jet-skis, bass boat, or Hobie-cat and have some fun on the water! Be sure to register with the Cross Lake Patrol if you're bringing your own boat or jet skis.
And if a rendezvous with Lady Luck is your thing, we're less than 15 minutes from the Shreveport casinos! The Cross Lake Contemporary is a great place to come home to after cashing in your winnings!
