2 bedroom apartment on the beach in a mythical landmark building
Apartment located in an previous five star hotel. The protected landmark building, decorated by architect Mallet Stevens, was the subject of a Claude Monet painting. Both Marcel Proust and Marguerite Duras were residents of the Roche Noire. The common area has all the charm and advantages of a past palace: amazing lobby, terrace overlooking the sea, parking, and doorman. The apartment is located on the third floor, with lift. The living area is quiet and luminous. 1 bedroom with 1 double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 1 bathroom, fully equipped kitchen. Garden view. Partial ocean view.

This apartment is right in the old town, just a short distance from the ramparts and the access to the beach. We were staying just one night, and it was perfect for our purposes.
We had a lovely family holiday in this apartment. Everything we needed in a great location, right by the beach with an easy walk into town. Loved Trouville’s wide, Sandy beach, interesting old buildings and pretty side-streets. Kids loved going on the kayaks with their Dad and trying out the little ride-on car track etc down at the beach.

A pleasant 4-night stay in a history breathing building in charming Trouville
It's a comfortable apartment. During our stay there wasn't a lot of noise from outside or from other residents. The only room with (partial) seaview is the room with (good) single beds. The view is gorgeous and so is the sound of the sea in this room.
It is a pity that the commun parts of the building aren't better maintained, but I can imagine this is not easy to organize.
The Good: Property is on the beach, and there’s parking in front once you check in and get a remote. Apartment is fairly well stocked with items for those with kids.
The Bad: Unfortunately , we had to flee the apartment early the next morning because of significant breathing issues that affect both my husband and me. We could not stay because it was very dusty, and the bathroom shower was dirty and had mold, even on the ceiling. The owner was quick to respond and said the cleaning lady claimed to have done her job and that there was no mold. I have photos that show otherwise. I asked the owner to send the cleaning lady back or refund the cleaning fee. She flatly refused to do either. After I complained some more, she stopped communicating with me and refused to refund the two remaining nights. She did refund the amount for a service fee for some reason, but that was $12 less than what the cleaning fee was. I travel frequently, and this is the only time in my life that I have had to leave a property. Remaining in a place that dusty was unsafe for us and not an option. We were both struggling to breathe during the one night we were stuck there.
The Not-So-Great: The overall condition of the building is poor with peeling paint, worn rugs, and an empty lobby except for the crime-scene-type tape that’s around part of the lobby because of a leak. There’s no doorman as advertised, only what we perceived to be a run-down place from another time.
Tout était magnifique. Quel lieu incroyable!
