Summary: Here’s a distinctive 1 bedroom annex, known as the cosy annexe, within walking distance of Itchenor Sailing Club, that’s ready to make you welcome to this attractive part of the world. Known locally as ‘God’s Pocket’ thanks to a climate that’s often milder than the rest of the country, staying in this nautically themed house in West Sussex will not only make it easy for you to reach the sailing club, it’s also close to Chichester and Goodwood. And there’s a private parking space right outside.
The Space: Here’s a quaint and rather unique one bedroom detached house in Itchenor that reflects the region's nautical links. You’ll see that as soon as you pull up into your private off-road parking space, thanks to the seafaring weather vane that sits atop the house above a window that could well be a porthole in a ship!
Enter through the front door and you’re into a snug and sophisticated world that reflects the modern preference for open plan living. The lounge and kitchen area is a prime example, featuring a sofa and twin armchairs, plus breakfast bar stools. There’s a wall-mounted flat-screen TV in here to keep you entertained on those occasions you’re not out enjoying the local attractions. And the kitchenette is fully equipped with quality appliances that will help you live more like you do when you’re home, including a microwave, stovetop and fridge/freezer. (Please note there is no oven.)
There’s also the bonus of a downstairs loo, handy if you don’t want to head upstairs. And that's where you’ll find the home’s bedroom, beautifully presented, of course, with a double bed offering somewhere tranquil to rest after a long day at sea or by the sea. There’s an ensuite shower room with WC and washbasin in here, so you can freshen up at the end of each day, or at the start of each new one, so you’re ready to discover more of the joys of staying in Itchenor.

Superb property for a visit to Itchenor - great location and facilities - lovely walking and cycling routes to West Wittering and Chichester Marina - and ferry to Bosham.
Perfect property for the two of us. The property was extremely clean and tidy in a great location.
Great pub with restaurant in walking distance.
The neighbourhood was very quiet as it was in small village which was wonderful.
Would definitely want to stay there again.
An excellent property in a quiet and convenient location
The house is situated in a short cul-de-sac and is very clean and comfortable and quiet, with hardly any traffic.
It is situated a few minutes walk from from Itchenor Harbour which has coastal footpaths in each direction. There is a nearby pub which serves excellent meals. Next to the boatyard there is a quiet cafe with outside seating where you can watch the many sailing boats in the harbour.
This was meant to be a short break to relax after a busy few weeks, but unfortunately the journey there and lots of rain managed to spoil that.
Fortunately the cottage and the surrounding area were lovely, so I did get enjoy the trip.
Beware of the low ceilings in the bedroom - I still managed to hit my head frequently even tho' I knew they were there!!
A lovely property in a beautiful location. Communication with the host was excellent and the cottage was lovely and cosy. My wife and I aren't the tallest, but we only just fitted in the shower due to the sloping roof, so we wouldn't recommend the property for taller people. Also, on a very minor level, the cables hanging out from behind the TV were quite unsightly and don't match the photos in the listing. One slight irritation came from the neighbour knocking on the door at 10am on our first morning, asking us to not park on the street, despite the fact that our car wasn't causing any obstruction to anyone. We couldn't see what the problem was but squeezed our car into the parking place beside the cottage, as it was clearly important to the neighbours. This is worth bearing in mind for potential guests with larger cars. Finally, one suggestion I'd have for elevating the experience for future guests is to provide milk, fresh juice, pastries, bread etc. We have experienced this at similar properties at a similar price point and it really boosted our experience, for a relatively small cost to the host. All in all though, we enjoyed our time at the cottage.
