Our Old Maltongate apartment is situated on the 2nd floor in a Grade II listed building located in the heart of the historic market town of Malton, North Yorkshire. The apartment has a contemporary design feel to it while at the same time it has retained its old 19 century look and character. You can take advantage of a fully equipped kitchen, enjoy a quiet meal in or relax in our comfy bedroom which has two double beds, TV and wardrobe space. There is a shower room, its own private entrance and has three velux style sky windows. Check in available 24 hours.

Functional apartments, however Old Malton Gate was very warm. But did have fans and an air con unit if needed. Great location.

Great location
Very easy to find and no problems with entry on either door. Flat was spacious and clean. Plenty of towels and tea/coffee. Fridge was a bit dodgy, freezer section needed defrosting as door wasn't shut properly when we arrived! Not a major issue though. Brilliant location for Malton centre. Plenty of steps to keep you fit but we knew that. We had no issues with sloping ceilings, Plenty of room. Lovely place to stay.

Great stay in a lovely town
This was a fantastic apartment for our little family of 4, we had plenty of space for us all, the main bedroom was huge with two big beds and the apartment lounge/ kitchen was fully kitted with everything we needed (except for a pizza roller!) and also included extras like cleaning products, cloths, toilet rolls, tea and coffee - thinks that you wouldn’t ordinarily see at a self catering place.
Malton is fantastic and the apartment is right on one of the high streets around the corner from the big market square.
The apartment was quiet, and very light. Only slight issues were how hot it did get because of it being in a loft space with small windows, and also that the VRBO site said there was free parking when there wasn’t you have to park on one of the main car parks (which isn’t far and isn’t too badly priced) for long stay if staying overnight.

Malton Central dates back to the 1800's. From 1867 until late 1960's the building was occupied by John Soulby a local wine merchant and then leased by Chas Rose & Co Ltd a local brewer who were based on Castlegate.
George and William Bower a butchers and food provider took over the building in 1969 when the local brewery closed down and operated there until 1990 when Campbell and Mycroft a respected local accountancy and financial services company took on the ownership.
The building laid empty and in disrepair for several years until 2018. For the past few years our trusted team of contractors and local craftsman have painstaking restored and converted the building into a collection of contemporary designed rooms, studio spaces and fully equipped apartments. Our aim is to offer you and all our guests a safe and enjoyable place to stay.
