About this property
The Saddler's Shop - a family break that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms
This charming cottage in the attractive village of Long Marston is a perfect place for friends and families to relax and enjoy quality time together. Long Marston is surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, including the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with its wealth of walking/cycling routes, but it also has excellent road links with many of the towns and cities nearby. The larger market town, Wetherby, is 7 miles west with a range of shops and eateries, or the walled city of York is 7.5 miles in the other direction.
Bursting with character, this property is packed with original features making it a memorable place to stay. Sympathetically refurbished, the contemporary decor beautifully incorporates quirky aspects of the building, eclectic patterns and fabrics, and distinctive pieces of furniture to create a unique home.
Stepping inside, discard your coats and boots in the hall before heading into the well-equipped kitchen. It is bright and airy and has everything you'll need to cook up some treats; there's also a bespoke breakfast bar so that cooking can be a sociable event. From here, you can access the magnificent lounge/diner: a large, sociable space with the wow-factor. The double-height dining space creates a grand place for eating and the exposed brick wall adds character and charm. Full-height double doors flood the area with light, but of an evening you can pull the period feature sliding shutters along their tracks for a cosier feel. The lounge area is also cosy, with a soft, deep sofa to sink into to chat or watch TV.
There is also a small wc in the downstairs area.
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms. The light and spacious master bedroom is on a mezzanine level with a glass balcony looking down over the living area. the bed in this room is a super king and made by one of the best bed manufacturers in the country, so ensuring a good nights sleep. The other room is a French antique double with a unique bedstead. Completing the accommodation is the contemporary bathroom with a separate shower and bath.
Outside, there is a lovely patio area with seating, which is great for a spot of al fresco dining. This is situated to the left of the owners' driveway and garden. There is off-road parking for up to two cars to the front of the property.
