Luxury 3 bed / 3 bathroom house near St Andrews. Ideal for Golf, Sea and Walks
Dating from 1743, and originally two fishermen's cottages, this house has recently been extensively renovated to offer a spacious, modern and comfortable property in the quiet village of Cellardyke. The fully fitted kitchen/ dining room (with AGA) offers a large entertaining area with seating for eight plus breakfast bar. A separate sitting room has direct access to a private walled garden and deck area. Three twin bedrooms with modern ensuite bathrooms offering showers in each,( plus one luxurious slipper bath) are tastefully decorated and incorporate ample storage. There is also a storage room, with separate access, allowing wet or muddy equipment to be stored and dried. A BBQ area is adjacent to the private decking area. A beautiful sea view over to Bass Rock and Isle of May is offered from the master bedroom which, like the other two bedrooms, features twin beds to cater for groups as well as families. This property offers direct access to the renowned Fife Coastal Walk that follows the chain of quaint fishing villages round the East Neuk of Fife. Enjoy the old village pubs and restaurants before heading off to play one of the many golf courses in the area including the famous Old Course in St Andrews. The more adventurous can enjoy the many water sports on offer around Anstruther and Cellardyke. Both villages have harbours that provide boat excursions to the island seabird colonies, and these are both within easy walking distance of the house. Try the award winning Fish and Chips on your way home from the harbour.

The house was amazing facilities just what we needed the aga was tough to get used to but cracked it in the end.Great location nice little walk into Anstruther for restaurants pubs and takeaways (Chinese @ 1 James Street was great) I could list a heap of places we went in where the food and drinks were good service and staff were great and the price in all were very reasonable.Parking was a bit difficult on James Street should be one way and have a speed restriction one of the guys had his car hit with quite a lot of damage (Still Drivable) but a note was left and everything was sorted.
Second visit here with our family and grandchildren. Perfect house, ideal location for Anstruther, the coastal path and Cellardyke pool. So comfortable and spacious and had everything we needed.

Celebrating a family birthday. Arrived to find an imaculate house with everything we needed in plentyful supply. Great location and very comfortable house.
Lovely property with ample room for 7 adult golfers. Large kitchen, big bathrooms, shower on top floor is brilliant like a wet room, parking can be tricky at times but we managed most days to get 3 parked down the street and close enough to the house
The house was a joy to share with our family and friends. Everyone loved it, it definitely added to our entire Scotland experience. The garden was nicer than the posted pictures. The house was cozy, comfy, and well cared for. We would stay there again and highly recommend it.
Beautiful well-kept home. Spacious and beautifully decorated. Fully equipped kitchen with quality dishes, cutlery, etc. We enjoyed being close to the water. Parking was more challenging than anticipated.
We had a fabulous few days in the house with family. Close to the harbor the location with great!
There was plenty of space in the house with lots of neuks and crannies to explore. Cooking on the Aga was a new experience that we successfully managed.
The house was very well equipped with everything you could need.
Thank you for a wonderful experience x
East check-in, spacious accommodation. Stairs were awkward from kitchen. We had a person with us with mobility issues so it would have been usefulIf property photos has shown this.Lovely bedrooms and excellent en-suite facilities. Awful smell in the garden so couldn’t use it which was a shame. We had a lovely time though.
Loved this gorgeous cottage in Cellardyke , spacious and comfortable accommodation and the bonus of a patio garden to the rear which we made full use of as we were so lucky with the weather 😎. A great base to explore the East Neuk and a 2 minutwalk into Anstruther with its famous chippy’s !
We will be back !!
Great house, plenty of room for four golfers. We thought the stove was unbelievable. Never saw that before. We played at St. Andrews everyday. It was a little too far a drive. Great little town. Great fish and chips. I would recommend for a family trip but not for golfers who are going to play St. Andrews. Very clean, great communication. Thank you

Thanks for your nice comments re the house and town. Agree it’s a bit of a hassle to drive to St Andrews but bear in mind that accommodation in StA would be three to four times more expensive.
Glad you enjoyed the AGA stove and the fish and chips. Hope the golf was good!
We loved our stay at this pretty, comfortable, well appointed home in Cellardyke, about 20 minutes from the town of St Andrews and a beautiful place to explore the Fife coast. The third floor bedroom has a lovely ocean view, the bathrooms and kitchen are great, and we loved being in walking distance to restaurants and coffee bars in Anstruther. The hosts were terrific, communicative and flexible. It is absolutely as advertised. Highly recommend.
We were all so impressed with this property! The home is beautiful and in a safe area, with lots of food options and lovely scenery within walking distance. Also the showers are the most amazing rainfall showers which were perfect after a cold day of exploring. Parking can be difficult on nights and weekends, so I recommend practicing your parallel parking skills but it’s definitely worth it. We commuted into Edinburgh almost every day and while it was a long drive, it was definitely worth it for the peace and quiet outside the city. House was very clean and we all agreed we would stay again if visiting.
This was a lovely property for a group of friends especially as it had twin beds in all bed rooms. It was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. There were a lot of stairs but we knew this when we booked. There is an Arga in the kitchen we we found easy to use & it kept the combined kitchen, sitting & Dinning room lovely & warm all the time. We used this space all the time. Couldn’t have ask for anything better as I said “It was lovely”.
We have stayed in lots of holiday homes in Cellardyke and Anstruther for a few years now as a couple and with our family. This was our first stay at Fulmar House and it was perfect in every way. So spacious, extremely comfortable and fully equipped and just a short walk to the harbour, beach and centre of Anstruther. Parking on James Street was so handy. Bus stop to St Andrews just around the corner. The pool at Cellardyke is a ten minute walk and is being transformed and a credit to the local community and a firm family favourite for lots of activities. I have already booked this fantastic house for next year and would highly recommend.
The layout and location of the house is great and was ideal for 3 couples. Our only niggle was the heating as we were fairly cold on a number of occasions and are not sure the heating system is working to full capacity - the small bedroom was fairly chilly and the ensuite shower room freezing as it has no heating in place. The draughts coming in from the outside door in the sitting room weren't great and a heavy curtain over this door would work wonders here. All in all we had a great stay and just layered up or moved down to the kitchen when we got too cold. AGA took a bit of getting used to but we were glad of the heat this gave off. The house is well stocked with dishes etc, and the linen and towels were plentiful.

Lovely place!
We rented the house for a one week family holiday and were immediately amazed with the quality of the service provided. Our first impression when entering the property was that it looked even better than on pictures!
We were made feeling very comfortable by a lovely and personalised "Welcome pack" and even if arriving late, we found everything nicely ready. We found the place really clean and tidy with everything that you could expect (and even more..) when renting a 3 bedroom house. The layout was excellent as we were 4 adults and 2 children and we never felt like steeping on each other toes. The location was really good and the street quiet. A supermarket was at reasonable distance and there is a lot to do in the area with good restaurants and small shops at walking distances.
Overall, highly recommended with both the property and customer service simply excellent!
Looking forward to coming back.

Utterly delightful!
We were delighted with our stay in this lovely house and the previous reviews have summarised accurately the house, layout, facilities and things to do nearby. I would add our thanks for the lovely welcome basket and huge vase of flowers.
When a place is billed as 'home away from home' I often wonder where most people live - we certainly don't have an aga, a huge double fridge/freezer, a wet room with a choice of two shower heads and beautiful white cotton linens on every bed! What a treat.
The local area is great and - we were very lucky with the weather - the highlights for me were the boat trip to the Isle of May to see the puffins and being able to walk down to the harbour at dusk and sit on the quayside watching the moonlight on the water. Others might have voted for the excellent fish and chips!
Corresponding with the owners beforehand was simple and friendly and gave a good foretaste of the delights to come. I would recommend this place unreservedly to family and friends and hope to return ourselves.

Girls trip
We arrived at the house on Friday afternoon with no heating on at all had to keep on coats for a good wee while, called the housekeeper who did come promptly with more small electric heaters and fix the heating. There was no heating at all in 1 off the bedrooms as it was an electric heater on the wall and broken also in that bathroom blood round the rim off the toilet and no under floor heating in bathrooms or kitchen as stated. It’s a well equipped house with everything you will need but could do with curtains as it’s very chilly all over the place with it being old. As for the bin situation we had to leave the rubbish in black bags when we left as didn’t want to leave on the pavement because the seagulls would have had a great time. We couldn’t take them to where we had to as we didn’t have a car. It didn’t stop us having a good time though.
Great three bedroom house in Anstruther/Cellardyke! Close walking distance to town/bars/shops/restaurants/harbor and beach. Short drive up to Crail and 15 min to St Andrews (close for multiple visits but out of the daily hullabaloo)!Hosts were great and very communicative. House has all that you need for a comfortable multi-day stay.

About the host
Hosted by Pamela Haggart
Owners are farmers, living around an hour away from Cellardyke. James has been a keen golfer since childhood and Pamela loves walking our two flatcoated retriever dogs. So the coast of Fife suits both with plenty of golf and the beautiful Fife coastal Path. There's something for everyone in this area of Fife and we hope guests get as much enjoyment out of our house as we have.
Why they chose this property
We were always looking for somewhere in Fife as, historically, we both had either friends or relatives who had great times in St Andrews or Elie. By chance we came across Fulmar House and it allowed us to enjoy our golf or walking activities along with enough room for the two dogs.
What makes this property unique
Originally, two fisherman's cottages, the house had been renovated in 2010-2012. The house had been modernised by installing three new bathrooms, enlarging the kitchen/ dining room area and integrating large clothes storage spaces in the two main bedrooms. An AGA in the kitchen maintains a warm cosy feel and this tends to be where guests congregate (close to the drinks fridge as well!).
