An iconic period building sitting right on the sea front at Cromer enjoying the most sublime views of the sea and pier from all angles and every room. Why not treat yourself to a truly unique coastal holiday at the fabulous Boycott House, and enjoy falling asleep to the sound of the waves?
This striking property, originally known as The Bath House, was built in 1814 and first opened as a reading room but gained greatest fame as a retreat for wealthy Victorians to ‘take the waters' away from public gaze. Its chequered past has seen it converted into a private residence in 1836, then a hotel in 1872, back into a single residence in the 1900s, and finally re-invented in 2020 to offer superb holiday accommodation. Boycott House is a two storey semi-detached house sitting at the end of the original building. On the ground floor, the sitting room is flooded with light from the fully glazed frontage giving open views to the sea beyond and has a modern Morso wood burning stove to light and cosy up beside in the winter months. The funky open-plan kitchen and dining space lies behind the sitting room with a window and glazed door to the side of the room looking along the promenade to the sea and the pier, and features a Kitchen Haus fitted kitchen and Bosch twin oven (steam and fan as used on Bake Off!). Upstairs, on the first floor, are two fabulous, spacious bedroom suites. The master bedroom, with a discreetly tucked away shower room, features a super-king size bed and a commanding view over the sea from the bay fronted windows. Enjoy it to the max from the curved window seat, or indeed the comfortable bed! The second bedroom, with king-size or twin option, is to the rear of the house and, with windows to the side, enjoys its own lovely views. The very grand en-suite with limestone floor not only has a glorious Chadder chariot slipper bath on a metal plinth, but a separate shower enclosure too. Guests have the benefit of one parking space on The Promenade immediately adjacent to the house (a parking permit is provided).
Within walking distance of the the town's many local amenities, including some cool new additions to the Cromer café scene; The Gangway, a charming micro pub serving craft beers, cocktails and nibbles; a new Grey Seal Coffee shop serving fresh locally roasted coffee; and Hatters Tea Room with their own brand loose leaf tea. No 1, TV chef Galton Blackiston's renowned fish and chip emporium sits at the end of the upper pier too. Enjoy!
