Why Dennis Lim chose South Wellfleet
Great sense of space and light, even on rainy days. Double-height living room, modernist aesthetic, and no passing traffic (end of a dirt road) make this home ideal for peaceful days and nights.

Quiet and peaceful
Spacious place in the woods. Wellfleet has many great beaches within driving distance. The owners were always pleasant.
Sunny, airy space in a great location
We were very comfortable at the house. The space is open and airy with lots of big windows. We arrived during a heat wave and were relieved to find a lot of big fans. The location is quiet and woodsy, a short walk from a beautiful marsh path and a quick drive to the best ocean beaches. Beds were comfortable (I've seen some reviews complaining about the mattresses being thin or too hard, but soft mattress give me a back ache!). Heads up that the owners prefer you bring your own linens. If you use theirs, they ask that you wash and put away before you leave.
Peaceful Location in a Sophisticated Setting
We loved this house - tucked away in a residential neighborhood, near an Audubon wetland, off a sandy road, surrounded by pine trees and countless birds, and yet a very short drive to PB's Boulangerie and Lecount Hollow Road which takes you right to McGuires Landing beach. We especially loved the architectural design of the house - white walls, lots of interesting angles, tastefully decorated, and large floor to ceiling windows provided great light and a view of nature outside. A multitude of windows provided ventilation. We also appreciated that the house was pet-friendly, so we were able to bring our doggie. We would definitely return.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this home in South Wellfleet. The house is full of light from the many windows and situated atop a small hill in a quiet neighborhood. The main drawback, as noted by others in their reviews, is that the beds are really uncomfortable. Think Ikea...a thin pad atop a wood base with no box spring. Unfortunately, this is the case in every bedroom, even the master bedroom. There is such potential in this property and a little more investment in terms of comfortable beds and furniture would go a long way. The offseason price for three days is OK but would not have been happy here for a week sleeping without a mattress and boxspring.
We, 4 adults plus 2 children, had a wonderful week in mixed weather enjoying this wonderful location and very comfortable home. When the sun was out we were able to get to fantastic natural beauty in no tine on foot and even more by car. When it rained, we read, we played board games, watched movies and loved the diverse bird life to be seen through the huge windows. A nature lovers delight.
