The property was excellent, exactly as advertised and scrupulously clean. The only drawback was the shower, there wasn't one!!You have to stand in the bath with the showerhead in your hand, very difficult and water goes everywhere.Haven't had a bath in years, really enjoyed it!!Be careful with the hot water, very hot.Overall the property was great value for the money.Stewart Lochstayed 7 nights.May 2026

We're so glad you enjoyed the property ...... and the bath!
Please note that in the listing we make no mention of a shower because the shower head is attached to the mixer tap and is really just for hair washing :)
The cottage was perfect and exactly how it Is shown. Only one small suggestion that there are a couple of teabags .. after a long trip through snow it would have been nice to have had a cuppa.. other than that I loved it..

Thank you so much for your lovely review, it's kind of you to take the time and very much appreciated.
We're so pleased that you loved our cottage and thank you for your suggestion.
A very comfortable cottage, very close to nice places to discover (Dee riverside, Ballater, Loch Muick, etc.). Very quiet too, and a beautiful view on the mountains. Suggestion: the description of the cottage could be better with a photo and few words about the bathrooms.

We had a wonderfully peaceful stay at the estate particularly enjoying the old world ambience of the accomodation and the beautiful natural setting. We can recommend the venison from the estate which can be purchased from the butcher in the Main Street
The property was clean ,comfortable and central to Ballater .
The grounds and surrounding countryside breathtaking.
Wonderful stay.

The vacation apartment is very nicely located. The bedrooms were nice, but the beds were relatively hard. The sofas in the living room could use some upgrading. The kitchen is well-equipped. The downside is that there's no shower curtain, which makes showering difficult. It would also be nice to have a toilet upstairs near the bedrooms.

Good morning Christoph,
Thank you for your suggestions and feedback and we appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you and we hope this didn't impact on your enjoyment of beautiful Glenmuick.
Kind regards,

The cottage has very spacious living areas and had everything the two of us needed for a quiet and relaxing stay while we explored the area. We especially appreciated taking a soak after long walks. Would definitely book again at our next chance to visit Ballater.

Dear Jessica, thank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased you enjoy your stay and we can't wait to welcome you back.
This was a very pretty cottage in a beautiful setting. It was tastefully decorated and furnished. It was clean and well equipped. If the bath had been fitted with a shower head and a screen then it would have been totally perfect.
We enjoyed our stay there.
Our day at the Balater Highland Games and our day at Balmoral were the highlights of our stay.
A winter holiday there with the log fire would be absolutely idylic.
The estate was beautiful. The cottage so cute and quaint. Like having my own little house. The weather wasn’t best but being here made it all tolerable. A hotel room somewhere would not have worked. Lovely town and lovely people.
Thank you.

Thank you for your lovely review. We are all so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. We hope that we may see you again at anytime.
I can’t think of a better place from which to explore the Cairngorms. This property, including our little cottage, is an historical gem. You will have to manage a few tiny comfort issues like no shower, the cushions on the living room furniture were worn to the point you are sitting in the frame, there were spiders (harmless) everywhere. The washing machine is in another community building, the queen bed is actually two twins pushed together so it was too short for my husband. But even with those concessions, we loved it!! The fire place was wonderful, the rooms are decorated with botanical and hunting prints. The kitchen had just been redone and was equipped with everything we needed including the prettiest china. We would definitely stay again.

This Place is titled Paradise Headquarters and I am sure it was at one time. The pictures of the cabin are clearly the “Glamor Shots” pictures. This 30 year old home is showing its age. Layout of the house is very awkward, lower level looks and smells like a dungeon. I am 5’6” and had to duck when entering the downstairs quarters. We felt bad about putting our adult Son, His Wife and the Grandbabies down there. Not at all what we expected. The laundry room is in-between the rooms downstairs as well you have to walk through the laundry room to get to the Kids rooms with the bunk beds.No propane grill as advertised. had to run to town to grab charcoal, to grill in the rain. Town is 10 miles away but due to roads and traffic about an hour round tripUpstairs Suite: Bathroom door in upstairs will not close and stay closed.AC in same room gets very noisy comes and goes.Jet tub - when jets were turned on small worms and slime got in water with wife and 1 year old granddaughter.Shower head in bedroom at bottom of stairs completely clogged not working.Using washer and dryer downstairs causes all the floors to get wet and slippery from the humidity. No working vent fan in laundry room. The ceiling fan in living room when turned on high makes a lot of noise and wobbles a lot.Walking anywhere in the cabin is Very noisy especially the stairs. Felt like we were waking everyone up if we got up out of bed at night. Host offered nothing but a thanks for letting us know.
