The loft description was accurate and nice space. Was interesting to see the different animals and how the get along. Close to Ashland and 25 min from West Omaha.
We needed a place while our kids were occupied at camp. The space was perfect for us. The kitchen was stocked with the tools we needed to cook our meals, the sitting area was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi was spot on to complete our work. We enjoyed the recommendations we got for various places to visit and hikes to take. Highly recommend.
Fun stay in the country. Host very helpful with getting in and settled, and responsive to needs, but the place was not fully ready on arrival. A storm related electric outage had blown breakers for the refrigerator and dishwasher that needed to be reset that evening. Dishes in the cabinet and silverware not completely clean. I'd suggest a thorough check of supplies and appliances between guests.

Property was just as advertised. I booked for three people but ended up bringing 4. That was fine with Perry. He was very easygoing, very welcoming. We were all comfortable. We LOVED having all the animals around. Perry had just rescued an emaciated horse named Buddy and it was great to see how thoughtfully he tended to this poor horse who no doubt will be completely sound in no time with Perry's help. It's a kind of "must love animals" place to stay. We do love animals, and our stay was wonderful.

This was perfect for our situation! The accommodations were great for us - PLENTY of room, very clean. I did embarrass myself not getting the door key pad to work - till I realized I missed the special instruction he gave when giving us the key pad number! note - read all the instructions! All his rescue animals were great fun to see and enjoy. Note, all of the animals are quite friendly and if you enjoy animals, you'll love the visit. Tomas the dog will meet you every time...but he's a big dog. He's very friendly - but if you're intimidated by big dogs, let Perry know in advance. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
If you’re booking through Expedia, you aren’t getting all the information. The owner has not updated pictures or information!
THIS PROPERTY IS IN THE FAMILY’S HOME! There is NO SEPARATE ENTRANCE AND YOU LITERALLY WALK THROUGH THEIR HOME! That information is not listed through the Expedia site. Had it not been the CWS and needed to be in Ashland, we would have left! There is plexly glass around the entry into the loft. However, you can still see into their home and they can see into your living space. There is another door, by the bathroom that leads to their kitchen and THERE IS NO LOCK ON IT! Thus, leaving the tenant access to their home and the home’s residents access to you. There is a very tiny, tight, steep spiral staircase that you use to access the loft. So if you have any physical issues this is not the place for you-again that info is not listed. I tried to contact the owner 3x (once through Expedia, 2x through VRBO, and once via his number that was listed at check in-no response.) The high rating is due from good reviews years back! A recent review sheds light on the situation and I just went with the overall rating. Don’t be duped, like we were! The condition of the “Animal Sanctuary” isn’t in the condition you see in the pictures either. The lists just goes on…the home owner appeared to be nice but obviously wasn’t interested in the fraudulent information he is providing this platform that I contact about. And 3/5 stinky towels!

Terrible 16 hr stay
Giant stairway that you could see down into their kitchen, So minimal privacy looking up, Owners were up all night washing dishes, beeping oven timer for 15 minutes, making dinner, running water, toddler boy was crying and laughing, at one point crawled up the stairs crying practically coming right over to me, that is is all during 7-1030pm. Then 130, 230, 315 AM their bright kitchen light goes, man sneezing, coughing, nose blowing, and crinkly bag and eating crunchy snacks at 315 AM! And at 745 Am, I can hearing more pots and pans and dishes and water running. Small amt. of smelly trash still in the garbage can in my area, no regular body wash, just man body wash, and no access to the country club pool that was advertised, though he did somewhat apologize for that, but that a big reason for the stay, I was courteous and quiet, practically silent, though i did have TV on, which he said was fine, They were thoughtless and very loud. Plus when I first got there, the wife who clearly saw me, nearly got me wet while hosing off her truck, barely stopped to avoid spraying me. Rude. My husband and teenage kid were planning on coming up the next day. There was no way we could have had normal conversation, much less loudly laugh or relax. I was there for 16 hrs. 16 hrs. too long. Would have left sooner if I wasnt out in the middle of nowwhere in the middle o the night. Owner refunded half of a 4 night stay, so mildly thankful for that. Mos Def would not recomend.
This property did not disappoint. We chose this location because of the animal sanctuary. As soon as you turn to drive up the long driveway you see a plethora of geese, chickens, 2 peacocks, 2 turkeys and ducks roaming free. A couple of super friendly dogs in the house. Around the side of the property were many more farm animals including the newest member of the family a friendly baby raccoon named Franklin. They were all super friendly & approachable. The portion of the house that we stayed in was very clean. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, complete with body wash, shampoo and conditioner. A fully stocked kitchen, with farm fresh eggs upon request. We loved the living room! The huge leather sofa was very comfy! We had a very nice time in this cozy home.
Great space for 4-5 people. Nice comfortable furniture. I enjoyed the art on the walls. Well stocked kitchen. It’s a perfect location to visit Omaha or Lincoln. We were in town for the dirt track and it’s only 2 miles away so that was awesome!
There was some confusion at check-in. Perry was on an important call so his law assistant showed us the way in. We didn’t know where to park to be out of the way. To access the loft you climb a spiral staircase inside their home. That was awkward for us because we came in late every night and were worried we’d disturb the family. The staircase is open at the top so we could see and hear them from the loft. They were perfectly quiet. We are not. It was the hottest month ever and the air conditioner hadn’t been turned down when we arrived so we had to leave as soon as we got there until it cooled off.
Overall it was a great stay and we appreciate Perry hosting us and hope we didn’t disturb them too much!
My family definitely enjoyed all the animals on the property! The loft was stocked with all the things we needed. Only thing that we wish we would’ve known before was there is not a private entrance from the owners living area and the loft where we stayed. Also, there’s not a way to lock a door between our staying area and the owners living area. We were very comfortable staying here with that being said though. Definitely glad we chose this property for our trip!
We stayed here for two weeks while visiting relatives around eastern and central Nebraska. We needed a place in between Lincoln and Omaha, with enough space to continue home-schooling our kids, and this place was perfect. Our kids loved visiting the farmyard, which was filled with donkeys, goats, pigs, emus, and other animals. The apartment itself is a clean and spacious loft where we enjoyed cooking, watching movies, and relaxing in between day-trips around the region. The host, Perry, was friendly and responsive. We will happily stay here again on our next trip to Nebraska!
This was a wonderful property to stay at, it's an amazing little property with firm animals and a cute little loft, it's tucked in to a farm like atmosphere with modern amenities. If you are looking for a property that is off the beaten path with all of the up-to-date and modern amenities that you look for in the city then this is a property for you. We had a wonderful time and my granddaughter absolutely enjoyed her stay!

Thanks for the kind review, Danyelle. You are welcome back anytime.
We were looking for a getaway that took us out of the city and found Perry's place. He was so welcoming and introduced my family to all his animals. The kids loved being able to handle the animals and absolutely adored his dog, Reckless. The loft was nice and quiet and well maintained. If you're looking for a place to get away and get in touch with animals, this is a gem!

Ashland Country Club
I found the lodging conditions very nice. I like the country location yet close to town. Everything was clean. Ample space and privacy provided. I never really mastered the TV set, but that’s my fault and no big deal. I’d stay there again. Thanks.

Charming Country Home
I had a great time staying at the Charming Loft. I was there for work in the area, Perry was a great host and the animals were awesome. I had a great time sitting out back and letting the animals come up to me. I cant wait to bring my family here next time I'm in town. Would love to stay again!
