About this property
Enjoy up close views of Quartermaster Harbor near to all Vashon has to offer
Enjoy views of inner Quartermaster Harbor and Mt Rainier from our centrally located, 1,000 sf guest quarters. You can enjoy watching the comings and goings of sailboats, cabin cruisers, crab boats and more. We are also regularly visited by geese, deer, and a wide variety of bird life. The two bedroom residence includes a fully equipped kitchen, a private patio, and ample living and dining areas.
Our guest residence is located on the lower level of our inner Quartermaster Harbor home. We live above and although we have taken steps to minimize noise, please know that my husband and I live above and some noise is unavoidable.
Everything is on the same level and the home can accommodate someone with mobility issues. If you have mobility issues, let us know and we can go over specifics with you.
We are located right off of Quartermaster Drive and overlook the Inner Quartermaster Harbor although there is no beach access from the guest residence.
We are very close to the Burton neighborhood where you can pick up last minutes supplies at Harbor Mercantile, enjoy a latte and good conversation at the Burton Coffee Stand, and experience kayaking and paddle boarding at Jensen Point on the Burton Peninsula.
We are grandparents and have most of what you will need for little ones including a portable crib, high chair, stroller, blocks, books, stuffed animals and more! All of our outlets are covered and other steps have been taken to make our home comfortable for families. Of course, all kid friendly equipment and supplies are put away for our adults only guests.
We have robust WiFi and the TV comes equipped with Roku from which you can access your Netflix or other subscription TV.
The guest residence should have everything you need. Parking is located right next to the entrance and we have keyless entry. You and yours are free to enjoy and use all of the grounds. We assume children will be supervised and all guests are responsible for their own safety. Please note that we require all guests to be vaccinated for Covid 19.
If you need something, just ask. If we have it we are more than happy to share.

Why they chose this property
After multiple decades in the hills of Hollywood, Jeanne and Bill were ready for a new adventure. They had always been drawn to the Seattle area where Bill had relatives. On a trip to the Northwest to visit friends and family, Bill discovered Vashon Island. He knew he had found their new home. The island's rural character, incredible natural beauty, strong community, and proximity to Seattle felt just right. They moved here in 1995 just in time for their daughter to begin high school.
A few years ago, Jeanne and Bill decided to "downsize." As it turns out their new home is a little bigger than the one they left, but it is divided into two residences. They live in the upper residence and have renovated the lower residence for friends, family, and travelers.
After 18 years in a lovely home overlooking the inner Quartermaster Harbor from a distance, they now live a stone's throw from their beloved harbor and love watching the movement of the tides, the wild life, and the many boats that come and go at all times of the year. On a clear day, Mt Rainier graces them with her majestic presence.
