About this property
Charming restored Victorian Farmhouse and cottage on a large rural lot.
This gorgeous restored Victorian farmhouse, circa 1880, is located in Como, NC (in the Northeast corner of NC, four miles south of the Virginia state line). The Buckhorn Baptist Church originally built this frame house to house its minister.
Four bedrooms and two and half baths, great room with wood stove, eat-in kitchen, laundry room, screened back porch, and patio provide our visitors with plenty of room to relax. Comfortably sleeps eight in the main house and two in the detached cottage. Fully equipped updated farmhouse style kitchen includes range, refrigerator, dishwasher and eat-in area for four. More dining is available at the large table in the great room. Large landscaped yard (surrounded by farmers fields), provides extra parking for RVs, boats and trailers. House is lovingly restored throughout. Central heat/ac, bed linens and towels provided.
This is the perfect place for a romantic weekend for two, a small family reunion, a girl’s getaway or just a relaxing week away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. For an exciting excursion, take a ride on Parkers Ferry, one of NC’s three remaining cable ferries. There are boat ramps six miles north and south of the property providing easy access to boating and good fishing. Historic Murfreesboro with its walkable historic district, restaurants and shopping is just six miles south. Franklin, Virginia is 12 miles to the north. Other nearby attractions include the Sylvan Heights Bird Park and Merchants Millpond State Park.
