About this property

Beautifully restored 17th Century farmhouse

The property is a 17th Century brick and stone farmhouse recently turned into a cosy holiday home surrounded by a private courtyard, garden and swimming pool. It has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus one single bed, and two additional sofa-beds for extra guests. Sitting on top of a hill, it is the last house in a small and very quiet village deep in Monferrato (UNESCO Heritage area in Piemonte). This unique position makes for amazing views while lounging in one of the many areas inside or outside the house, and seamless direct access to walks and hikes through the famous rolling hills of this area. We furnished and decorated the house with old family pieces while also adding our own modern touch.
The master bedroom features a beautiful canopy bed with a COCO-MAT mattress, and an en suite bathroom. The it has both views of the valley out west, as well as a window on the courtyard.
A small living room on the ground floor makes for a cosy relaxation spot, and features a double sofa bed.
Another double bedroom overlooks the courtyard and has direct access to another ground floor bathroom.
A laundry room is available with a washing machine and enough space to hang the laundry.
Upstairs is the main living area, as it benefits from the incredible view. A large kitchen with a marble top table, ideal for cooking, can host up to six adults for breakfast or a casual meal. It has access to the balcony and a simple gas stove for cooking, and plenty of counter space to work on.
Another double bedroom features a small walk in closet, a balcony overlooking the courtyard and the hills. Just in front is a smaller room with a single bed, and a bathroom.
Then is the main feature of the house: a large living and dining room furnished delightfully with two large sofas, armchairs, and a large dining table that can comfortably sit everyone. The three sides of this room feature large windows that overlook all the surrounding valleys all the way down to the Italian-French Alps. It also has access to the terrace, which features a table for six.
The courtyard, which is completely private and enclosed, is surrounded by flowers and plants. It hosts a bean-shaped pool, which features wooden furniture for outdoor lounging. The east valley can be enjoyed even from inside the water. The pool can be seen from inside the house. There are two covered parking spots, and a veranda with an additional table and a hammock.
In the back garden are our fruit trees and flowers, and a comfortable and fresh lawn which faces the north side and catches some nice shade, as well as stunning views.
The surrounding area offers plenty of hiking, restaurants, wine tours, and various country outdoor activities such as horseback riding.
Grocery shopping and basic needs can be fulfilled at a town in a 5 minute drive.

Gorgeous villa in a peaceful town with stunning views of the surrounding hills
The villa is really lovely and has enough space for a group of friends or family, especially nice to have 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Lovely pool and well appointed house with everything you need for cooking and relaxing. The views are amazing and for those inclined some lovely walks through the surrounding nature and vineyards!

My partner and I live and work in Milan. This is our safe haven of relaxation, a place to unwind and come back to nature. We both work in the creative field.

Why they chose this property

When we first saw this property and it completely blew us away, we purchased it that same day. We were looking for a beautiful place to rest, cook, and enjoy nature: it was love at first sight.

What makes this property unique

The view, food, atmosphere, silence are priceless. It is everything we’ve ever wanted from a home. The simplicity and beauty of a small rural village.
