Spacy traditional cottage for 4 people in Tomintoul. It is a small vollage but has a few shops, pubs, restaurants and is a good base to discover the highlands. The cottage itself is cosy, clean (beside the oven) and confotrable.

Wonderful cottage

My husband and I stayed her for a few days on our 20th anniversary. It was just what we needed! The property, owner, and communication were perfect. We would definitely stay here again and would definitely recommend.

Serene cottage in serene surroundings

This was the perfect location to start our Scotland tour! The cottage is done up to a superb standard, and was lovely and clean. Tomintoul is a quaint village, with some great walks through the gorgeous surrounding countryside direct from the doorstep. The adventure playground is also well worth a visit for those with kids!

Great Spot

My wife and I stayed here for 3 days and we loved having a kitchen to prepare many of our meals in. Restaurants and the pub were a short walk away (oct is the end of the season for many store/business owners. The Whiskey Castle was closed but we were happy to step in the pub for some whiskey sampling there). We enjoyed building a fire in the wood stove and watching a movie on Netflix at the end of the evening after a full day of sightseeing and activities. Good place to stay for couples and for families.

Lovely property

Really lovely property, fully equipped with all we needed. Slight musty/damp smell in the bedrooms, but lots of air fresheners!! The lounge is delightful with the exposed beams and log burner. Slight confusion over the check out time - VRBO stated 11am but info in the cottage stated 10am.

Beautiful and so comfortable

We had the best time. My dad did NOT want to leave at all haha. There’s everything we needed within walking distance and the host was so kind. We had a little bit of issue finding the house, our gps would only pull up #9 on Main St not #8 so we had to use our heads a little more lol, but literally that was the only issue. If we could we would come back every year!

4-night stay

We loved the general area and the relative ease to get to places of interest in the Cairngorms, Speyside and on the coast. The cottage came as billed. It was relatively comfortable, although the furniture and beds are more serviceable than super comfortable. Not having the drying machine was a drawback. Tomintoul itself is small - few restaurants and only basic supplies at the Post Office. Again, that was billed in the information. Communicating with Alisa was straightforward. In all, the cottage was safe and clean but if you are looking for a spot with more services Tomintoul is probably not for you.

Tomintoul, the kind of place where a log fire crackles in the living room and the outside world feels pleasantly distant.It's the sort of village where most of the houses gather around a single street, and that's enough. No need for more. The police, fire and rescue service, and NHS all share one building. One pub, one hotel, one restaurant, one village shop. Simple. Uncomplicated.I haven't seen this much wildlife in a long time. Red squirrels, deer, pheasants, rabbits, birds of prey, and other birds whose calls I couldn't recognise. Don't bring your headphones here, you'd be missing the point. What a great few days. The kind that remind you how little you really need: a quiet village, a few paths, good company, and the feeling that around the next bend there might be something worth stopping Ailsa is an excellent host—very communicative, direct, and responsive. I never waited more than an hour for a reply to any of my messages, which made the whole stay feel smooth and stress-free.The welcome pack at the property contains everything you need to know about the cottage and provides helpful guidance on navigating the limited resources available in the village. It was an invaluable source of information throughout our stay.The cottage itself is stylish, charming, and beautifully presented. From the moment we arrived, it felt warm, welcoming, and instantly like a home away from home.

Komfortables, geschmackvolles Häuschen in nettem Ort

Die Fereinwohnung befindet sich in einem typischen traditionellen Haus von Tomintoul. Sie ist sehr geschmackvoll und komfortabel renoviert mit komplett ausgestatteter Küche und Wohnzimmer mit Ofen. Alles war für uns bestens vorbereitet. Restaurant, Geschäfte und Pub sind fußläufig in wenigen Minuten erreichbar. Im Garten kann man sich prima erholen.
