It’s only 40 minutes from Siena, Volterra, San Gimignano, and Massa Marittima. The beautiful Etruscan Coast is also just as close. Castelnuovo Val di Cecina is a small town in the heart of Tuscany, situated at an altitude of about 500 metres and located within the famous Larderello geothermal area. During the winter, homes are heated using geothermal energy, which is considered an alternative and renewable energy source. In the summer, thanks to the elevation, there’s no need for air conditioning.
