Comfortable and relaxing - honest review

The property is welcoming. It was generally clean although kitchen cupboards, door handles and fridge hadn’t been wiped so I did have to wipe these down before using and the cutlery draw was full of crumbs so I felt everything had to go through the dishwasher before use. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean. Very comfortable and very well equipped. There was everything we needed and very well laid out. Nice and quiet. The location is good as you are on the border to Cornwall. We booked some kayaking on the lake at the activity centre. Just be advised It’s a 45 minute/hour walk from the lodge or a 5 minute drive. I was on the understanding it was closer to the lodge than that. If you have a dog the back garden is not enclosed however it was a nice little area with table and chairs. The hot tub is a little overlooked. There was nothing no staff on site but contact numbers are given for the duration of your stay. Despite the few negatives I would stay again and recommend

Lovely lodge, perfect weekend stay

We stayed in Bluebell Lodge 31st May, the lodge was perfect for our relaxing weekend. We were very fortunate with weather, the only thing we needed was a garden umbrella as no shade for little one or my mum and unfortunately noone around to ask for one.

Sauna

The lodge was lovely and we hoped that after weeks of visiting cities we could just relax in the lodge and enjoy the lake. We visited during the heatwave and inside the lodge was an uncomfortable 33oC, we reached out asking for fans but nothing. No shade provided outside so we couldn’t sit outside to enjoy the light breeze. We ended up going out every day to get away from the heat. I appreciate the weather was unusually hot but for the price charged you expected a better experience. Disappointed.
