Very good location. Comfortable apartment. Well kept. What I expected. Stairs for entry, not a problem for us, but potentially for someone less mobile. Electrical is undersized turn off A/C units to run the washer. Overall a very good experience.

Great property in the historic district of the city. One flight of stairs so keep your baggage lean and on wheels! Theatre has closest parking (about150yds)but has weird Sunday hours. Good comms with host.

Ortigia is compact and it would be hard to find a bad location, but this has to be the best location. Directly adjacent to and with a view down the main square, the apartment is up one easy flight of stairs but perfectly quiet at night with no street noise. The best place for your morning cappuccino and croissant is right downstairs. From this central location it’s about a 5-7 minute walk to the sunset side for a drink, boat ride, small public beach, or to the sunrise side for a slightly larger public beach The apartment itself is spotless, comfortable, and delightful with a fully stocked kitchen - we didn’t use a thing in it - why would you - you’re in Italy. The AC is worked perfectly! The beds were very comfortable Our host Mario provided timely and detailed and accurate access instructions. Also if you do have a car, suggest you take Mario’s advice and stash it in Autopark Ortigia at Via Teatro 12. As advertised, it’s about 40 meters from the apartment and so easy. You can book in advance which made it even easier!We would book this place again in a second as have already recommended this place to our friends and highly recommend for you!

10/10 for the booking experience & communication throughout the stay. The location was incredible. We had originally booked a hotel, but reconsidered that so we could have more space and comfort. Best decision we’ve ever made. The apartment was well equipped, and beautiful! Very comfortable. The location can’t be beat. Don’t think twice when booking this place! Special thanks to the hosts for the extra touch to make a birthday trip more memorable. We will share this with all of our friends!

We much enjoyed being in the centre of Ortigia with frequent street entertainment nearby and plenty of ‘buzz’. Quiet during the night for a good night’s sleep.

My husband and I stayed in this Ortigia apartment for four nights at the start of our Sicily trip, and it set the tone perfectly. We absolutely loved it.The apartment itself is stunning. It is unbelievably spacious, impeccably clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the furnishings and artwork to the overall decor and amenities. It truly matches the listing, including the breathtaking terrace view, which was a highlight of our stay.The location couldn’t be better - right in the heart of Ortigia and within easy walking distance of everything.Check-in and check-out were seamless, and Mario was an exceptional host. He provided a comprehensive booklet with everything we needed to know about the apartment, which was incredibly helpful. Communication was excellent throughout. Mario responded quickly and even shared some great restaurant recommendations.Honestly, nothing needs improvement. It was a perfect stay, and we would absolutely recommend it to anyone visiting Ortigia.

This place is in the middle of Ortigia and was an excellent place to stay to see all the sights. It was clean and easy to access. mario the host was an excellent communicator. He responded immediately to all questions. I can highly recommend staying at this apartment.

Mario, the host is amazing. He made sure we had everything we needed and also booked the parking garage for us. The parking garage is very close to the apartment which made it easy for us with the luggage and kids. Location is perfect with a nice view. The city of Ortigia is absolutely stunning. My only complaint is that we should have stayed longer.

Without a car we thought this would be the best location as so much is just a few minutes walk from the apartment. Bakeries, restaurants, ice cream shops and mini markets can be found all very close by. The apartment puts you right at the heart of Ortigia life with the Duomo (cathederal) being at the end of the street right opposite the front door. We are happy to recommend this apartment to anyone thinking of visiting the Syracuse area in general, and Ortigia in particular.

Beautiful Home great location in the heart of Ortigia has everything you need for Vacation from the beautiful kitchen and modern appliances to nice shower , comfortable bed ,Xbox smart TV anything you or kids will need on Vacation! Lovely apartment

We loved our stay in Ortigia. The apartment was clean and well appointed. The kitchen was well supplied. Cooking was easy. The bedroom was in the back of the apartment so it was quiet and the bed was comfortable. The location was perfect, with a view out onto the piazza. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful apartment in the heart of Ortigia!

We loved this apartment so much. The location of the apartment is perfect and if was so easy to walk everywhere. The place is beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean. There is a beautiful balcony looking out over the cathedral. Mario was so helpful and was able to reserve us a garage spot nearby and even sent a list of recommended restaurants. Five stars all around! We will definitely stay here again if we come back to Ortigia.

Wonderful Casa

Our stay in Ortigia and at the Casa dei Leoni were the highlight of our trip to Sicily. All the details about the property are accurate and as described. The comfortable, spacious and light-filled apartment is situated at the very heart of the island and is only a two-minute walk to the central Piazza Duomo. It overlooks a major pedestrian thoroughfare lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, etc., yet the street life is never intrusive, and the bedroom is recessed at the far end of the apartment. Our gracious host, Mario, could not have been more diligent in his communications with us, guiding us through every step of check-in/check-out (he even went out of his way to secure parking space--essential!--for us after some initial confusion). The House of the Lions receives our most enthusiastic recommendation!
