Saltpot Cottage is a unique and luxury home, nestled in a quiet corner of the village of Cowling at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The log burner will greet you with that toasty welcome after a long walk out in the countryside on a brisk Autumn or Winters day. Or be it Spring or Summer, the outside of the cottage is a sun trap where you can sit on the patio opposite the cottage and relax, enjoying the views over the field and the pinnacle. With open plan living downstairs, there’s lots of space to entertain plus the snug upstairs where you can escape for a quiet read or enjoy some of your favourite TV watching whilst dinner is being prepared. Saltpot Cottage is truly a home from home, yet with all the added touches of a luxury hotel it will make your stay that little bit extra special.

A treasure in a great location

This cottage is stunning, and Chantal and Steven have gone above and beyond to ensure a warm welcome. We were so comfortable there it truly felt like home away from home. Chantal was so gracious in showing us how the appliances worked, and the breakfast goodies and wine were so much appreciated. The location allowed us to explore West Yorkshire and Lancashire and we loved seeing the little lambs out of our kitchen window.

The location is great, local pub a fun place to visit, lambs outside provide entertainment. Lovely selection of produce available. Nice large kitchen and living space but mind your head upstairs in the bedrooms.

We are Chantal & Steven, married with grownup children and the proud owners of Saltpot Cottage in Cowling, North Yorkshire. We both love to travel and have stayed in some amazing places over the years and so decided we would bring these experiences and channel them into our recently renovated cottage that was once an old mill workshop in years gone by. We love Yorkshire and want others to experience a fabulous stay whilst discovering this beautiful area.

Why they chose this property

My husband Steven is a Yorkshire man born and bred has lived in Cowling all of his adult life. I’m a Lancashire lass and was persuaded to relocate here- I’m glad I did as I fell in love with both my husband and Yorkshire! Saltpot Cottage is a beautiful Yorkshire stone built home. It came as an extra building when we bought our house, which we lovingly renovated and made into this fantastic home for visitors to enjoy.

What makes this property unique

The cottage has open plan living, kitchen and dining downstairs with access to the garage utilities and separate toilet. Underfloor heating is the sole heating for downstairs. A great entertaining space with views across the field from the kitchen windows. There’s a 4K smart TV downstairs to enjoy Netflix, Amazon Prime and YouTube.

Upstairs is a snug with log burner, smart TV and gorgeous views across the field. Both the master bedroom with en-suite and twin bedroom with opposite house bathroom (including free-standing roll top bath) are located on this floor. There are skylights in each room upstairs in addition to windows. Separate central heating is also upstairs.
