About this property

Mountain Cottage - indoor hot tub

The Cottage is located in the bottom of fjord Ólafsfjörður, in the mountains. It has two bedrooms, a living room and a private geothermal water jacuzzi in a garden-in-house area, that can be opened up to the terrace. The cottage is well equipped, has a new WIFI for guests to use, and quality mattresses made up with comfortable linen, soft towels and warm blankets. The area is extremely peaceful. In the backyard is a heated football court and a playground for kids.
The space
Being all wood covered inside, the cottage underlines the natural surroundings of mountains, valleys and river. It is a perfect safe-haven for both active tourists are the ones liking low-tourism, where you can unwind in the indoor hot tub with breathtaking views.
Guest access
Guests will have access to all areas of the cottage.
Other things to note
The cottage was used for luxury heliskiing company before.
During heavy snow months, February and March, it could be a bit difficult to get to the cottage from the main road by car. However, it is not a long walk.
As the cottage is in the mountains, some cell phone companies do not have good cell service there.

Ski holiday
Incredible location for the spring, backcountry skier. Nice 2 bedroom layout. Kitchen was easy. Shared bathroom not the best. But seperate shower room helps. A bit of a jaunt from town, but quiet and serene upon arrival. No cell signal. But wifi was consistent, minus one day when it went blank. Hike and ski right from your deck.

Beautiful, peaceful, remote.
We enjoyed our night here as we explored Northern Iceland. I was concerned that it might feel really tight with 6 adults - and it probably would have for a longer stay, but for a quick overnight or a longer stay for a family with kids (who would enjoy the small playground), it's great. The surroundings are absolutely gorgeous.
