We had a short stopover before heading into Desolation Sound and found this place quaint, quiet, and clean. There were rave reviews amongst the group on the breakfast served! Homemade applesauce and jams included - we had a great stay!
The house was a wonderful plce to stay with our twin's. Having toys and a washer dryer made traveling with twin 3 year olds much easier. The breakfast was also really good. Would recomend this place to anyone traveling in the area
We loved our stay at the farm. The house was very comfortable and clean it was stocked with everything you could think of including lots of things for our two year old son to engage with. Breakfasts were delicious and the hosts were kind. Highly recommend staying here. Thank you so much!
Very friendly and helpful hosts. The breakfast is AMAZING!!!! Perfect place for families to stay. Lots of activities to keep the kids busy. Tons of kids books, toys and games. Comfortable beds. Quite area. We will likely stay here again and would recommend in a heart beat.
We loved and enjoyed staying here. The hosts are friendly and hospitable! Our children loved the animals living on the farm. Thanks for the host showing us around the farm and sharing with us the interesting stories about their guide dog.
Eric and family were wonderful hosts. They shared their farm with us. Their animals are delightful. The house is clean and spacious and offers games and local information. Breakfast was different every day and delicious.
We and our friends had an amazing time at this property. The property is very clean and well-maintained. Many thanks to our amazing hosts for their hospitality. Although it was so cold, Ginny gave us a great tour of the farm and we enjoyed and learned a lot. The hosts made us delicious breakfasts. We will definitely recommend this place :)
After several days of backpacking, this was a great place to stop and rest for the night.
Upon arrival we were scooted out to the goat barn to see several baby goats that were just born before got there. Such a treat.
Although we were leaving very early we were provided fresh eggs and cream, toast and butter, coffee and tea.
The rental itself has everything you could possibly want or need. Comfy beds and lots of towels.
My next trip up will include a stay here again.
What a magical experience! Our five year old son loved the playground, games and helping care for the animals. Our two year old daughter enjoyed picking raspberries and swinging with a view of her favourite animal - chickens. Inside was well stocked with everything we needed and spotless. Perfect location for our family. Kids are already asking when we’ll be back! Hosts were very welcoming and generous with their time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 nights here and wished we could have stayed more. The place is clean and comfortable. The best part, in our opinion, was the amazing breakfast every morning (we're foodies) and the chance to learn about the farm. When the opportunity arose, the kids (5 & 7) were thrilled to help out with gathering eggs and milking the goats. I loved learning about the farm and how everything has a purpose and contributes to the farm ecosystem. The host families are such lovely people - we would love to stay again. We can't say enough good things about this place.
The property is exactly what we needed to wrap up our vacation. It was quiet with a comfy homey vibe. Everything you could want or think of was supplied. The place was spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable. There's a menagerie of animals on the property. We think we saw most of them. Cats came to call for some affection on the deck which was set up with outdoor lounging furniture. There are also chickens, goats, a couple of doggos, at least one cow (although we didn't see it) and some turkeys? We didn't see those either but we sure felt we heard their gobble! It's out of town a bit, on the way to the Saltery Bay Ferry terminal. There's a convenience store about a 5-minute drive away but for larger grocery stores, a trip into Powell River is required. The hosts were wonderful. They allowed us an early check in as we had items we brought with us from a previous VRBO that required refrigeration. Delicious breakfasts were prepared for us each morning. I would definitely stay there again. Great value for money.
What an amazing gem! The property is so diverse and full of interesting things to look at and explore. Our kiddos loved the animals, the outdoor play area, and the playroom. The cats were a big hit too!We loved the family games in the house for us to use. It's a super family friendly place. The beds were super cozy, which was a bonus!Let's talk breakfast: SO GOOD! We had pancakes, toast, bacon, the best scrambled eggs, homemade apple sauce, and coffee. I highly recommend! Thanks Ginny, Dan, and Laara for the amazing hospitality!
Our family had a wonderful time with Ginny, Jessie and Erik! The breakfasts were deluxe, farm proximity to town and beaches was perfect. The accommodations are well equipped, especially for young kids. The air conditioning was very much appreciated during our summer stay. We enjoyed everything about our stay and are looking forward to returning next summer!
Very clean and spacious. Shared among 4 adults, 2 toddlers & an infant. The kitchen is very well stocked (better than my own!).There are many toys & books in the house, and outdoor play area as well as quite a few farm animals to keep the kids occupied. Having breakfast served when there are three young children was more than I could as for, but they were also so delicious! Perhaps only downside was one bathroom, but it was still manageable with some coordination.
This stay was just perfect for us - grandparents, daughter and 3 grandchildren ranging from ages 3 to 7. The suite is exactly as described and the best part was how child friendly it was - dishes, beds, a playhouse with swings and ride on trucks, plus a bin of MR POTATO HEAD. Did you know he’s been around since 1952! However that being said, the best part of the adventure was our yummy breakfasts (thanks Jessica and Eric) and the educational fun visits with the goats and the chickens. My grandkids loved feeding the goats and we all learned a lot from Eric and Ginny. I know the hosts’ days are very busy but they always had time for us. They are 10 to 15 minutes away by car to two ocean beaches and 20 minutes from town. I can’t put into words how truly remarkable our hosts were.
I would highly recommend this to anyone who likes to enjoy the country, swim at lakes or the ocean, hike, eat and learn about raising animals. You don’t have to have kids to enjoy the comfy bed in the master bedroom and the location.
Thanks to all of you!
Had a great stay at the property. Our kids were in heaven with their own rooms, toys to play with and a farm to view and learn about. The crib for our youngest was really nice. Watching the goats get milked and learning about cheese making was a very unique experience. Beautiful and tucked-away, yet not too far from town. Will definitely return one day.
Family vacation at the Family Farm B&B in Powell River
Our visit to the Family Farm B&B was a great hit, especially with our 2 kids, age 6.5 and 9. They had a blast with the farm animals, feeding them, helping with milking, collecting eggs, etc. Eric and Ginny are great hosts, they both have an abundance of patience and they made our stay at their place a memorable time - my wife and I were particularly looking forward to great breakfast each morning. We will definitely visit again and we will recommend Family Farm B&B to all of our friends and family.
Cheers,
Sasha
I love all the things that the manager provided including the animals. It can be any better as this house provides so many beyond our expectations. I have never been staying in any other houses like this before. My girl literally felt it’s her home and was very excited with her own room. I wish I could stay here for more days! The owner helped my kids to collect eggs and looked us around the farm. We loved the chickens, goats, dog, cats, ducks, turkeys, geese and many more. We had a great breakfast provided by the host in the morning with lots of pancakes and bacon, fried eggs and juice. The host Eric is the nicest guy. This house gave us a feeling of home. Please check the pictures I post here and they will show you all the surprises!
Wonderful stay for the children. They had endless entertainment on the farm with both the animals, fruit, and the toys. This is our 4th year going and we keep enjoying it just as much!
Going to try to be brief here, there is just so many good things to say. My hoard of 7 (3 kids, 3, 8 &10, parents, grand parentd) invaded this tranquil family farm last week. Stayed for 3 nights and would have loved to stay longer.
The guest b&b 4 bedrooms and a bath is upstairs. Immaculately clean, and so so well provisioned. I have to say, the place is clearly provisioned with love amd care. Starting with kitchen, fridge is stocked with jams, ketchup, creamer and a box of farm fresh eggs! Pots, pans, dishes, utensils, knives, cutting boards, seasonings, oils, vinegars, Keurig, teas, electric water kettle, saran wrap, aluminum foil, stacks and stacks of clean dish towels... better stocked than my own kitchen... dishwasher works like a dream.
Living room has huge selection of board games, and craft supplies!
Bathroom is huge and stocked with enough towels to supply an army. As well as several soaps (a home made one too!), mani pedi set, a range of shampoo/conditioners, several for kids (detangler!).
Full size washer and dryer that worked great for my hoard. Supply closer filled with laundry detergent, tooth paste (sensadine!), soaps, dryer sheets etc etc erc.
Bedrooms are so comfortable, not to mention the kids room comes.with a.whole range of stuffies, and toys. My 3 year old promptly found the giant pink horsey and claimed her own. My 8 year old had her sights set on the giant black and white striped tiger. The bedrooms had lots of lots of extra blankets and sheets too.
The best for the last, is the host family are so delightful and helpful without ever being too pushy. The kids got ms. Genny to show them how to milk the goat. Eric gave us a tour of the grounds , and showed where the kids can get some eggs, and pick up giant blackberries and raspberries. Grandma Jessie's crepes, omelets and pancakes breakfasts are out of this world. The kids also thoroughly enjoyed the play house and swing set, as well as the trampoline. Such a gem, so muc for the kids to do! From Jenny's tip, we went to a beach 5 minutes from the house, and it's a "secret beach" which my kids enjoyed amd could not stop talking about! And hardly anyone was on the beach! Because it's "secret" ;)
Loved our stay, my kids are already full out trying to convince us to come back next year... :) Thanks so much!
