About this property
Modern Coastal House near Whitstable with Spectacular Sea Views
Contemporary modern home with large sun terraces to allow you to enjoy alfresco dinning. The constantly changing coastal views and sunsets can be enjoyed all year around through the large double glazed windows. The house is not suitable for Hen or Stag parties to avoid disturbing our neighbours. Why not enjoy a stroll along the beach and visit the working harbour of Whitstable where you can sample local oysters from the many trendy restaurants. We prefer a minimum of 3 nights stay and 5 nights in the popular summer months although we can be flexible if an additional charge of £150 is paid towards the additional cleaning required for shorter stays.

The house was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. The views over the sea made it. It was in a quiet position and not far from the centre of Whitstable, either by walking along the beach or driving. Parking is tricky in Whitstable though. Unaware beforehand of the railway line at the bottom of the property but it wasn’t an issue. As 5 women, we couldn’t help but notice the kitchen area was a little cramped, perhaps designed for just one person to do the catering?!We had sunny, dry weather throughout our stay fortunately, so were able to use the comfortable furniture on the decking and enjoy the sea views.
Exceptionally good family space.Well equped to cook family meals. Toddlers very excited to see the trains go by. Loved the huge picture window overlooking seascape with ever changing skies.
A group of 4 retired couples stayed. We usually go somewhere together for a week each year. The house was perfect for us as each couple could have their own bathroom, the lounge was large enough for us all to sit comfortably, the dining area could seat us all comfortably. The lounge has floor to ceiling windows with great views onto the sea. We could easily walk into Whitstable (which is nice). Highly recommend!

New Year stay
The house is in a good location for walking into Whitstable and the railway line is not too intrusive. There is a lovely balcony with great views. It did not feel like the house had been checked properly between guests as there was light bulbs not working, radiators that needed bleeding and the water system seemed to be very noisy in the kitchen when any taps were turned on in the house. The bedrooms are a good size but a couple lacked wardrobes despite there being space for them.
Wow - what a fantastic view of the sea. House was clean, comfortable and updated. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. Host very communicative, house in great location- thank you
We had the most amazing stay, the views were absolutely spectacular and the house was very well equipped. All of our guests commented on what an great property it was and they would happily return. Phil was very helpful with any questions I had, the beds were also incredibly comfortable and check in and check out instructions were very easy to follow.
Had a great stay at Shell Ness. We were a group of 8 adults and the property had a great configuration of bedrooms and bathrooms for us. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms each with their own bathroom. On the lower level are 3 bedrooms. On has a pair of twin beds and a half bath, one is a large room with bun beds and a pair of twin beds, the third has a king bed and a crib and a full bath.the deck is the highlight and we had great evenings watching the sunset and the sunrise in the morning.it was walking distance to a beach and a lovely pub. Easy to catch a bus or walk into town. It was perfect!
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Perfect for our group of mature ladies. The living space is open and great for socialising together. We enjoyed the balcony and witnessed spectacular sunsets over the sea. No one had to wait to use the bathroom, as there are many. Every bedroom was very comfortable and nicely furnished. Sadly, previous tenants had not left the barbecue clean.
Hi
We found everything as expected. The bedrooms all worked out well for our large family. We had some great meals cooked in the kitchen and on the BBQ. We loved sitting on the balcony trying to identify the sea birds. We visited Whitstable town centre and harbour, Canterbury, Margate, Oare Nature Reserve and Rochester. The teenagers picked up loads of designer wear in the charity shops and the adults enjoyed the restaurants and pubs! Thanks for the great accommodation.
Omg absolutely loved our stay here it was just perfect for our group of 11 ladies loved the balcony especially and waking up to the view of the sea was amazing and the bedrooms were gorgeous. The walk along the beach was perfect for walking into Whitstable

About the host

We are Sarah and Philip and have owned this property for almost years. We regular spend weekends there with our teenage boys and are continually trying to maintain and improve the decor and furnishings for guests to enjoy. We recently replaced the sofas and redecorated and have updated some of the beds and built a new en-suit shower room. The House has spectacular sea views it being 200m to walk to the high tide mark from the front door. There is a secure garden with no direct access from the beach. We work and live near Canterbury in Kent where the boys are still at school.
Why they chose this property
This is probably the most modern comfortable coastal property to sleep 12 adults in this area
