Tranquil and restorative.
Sweet small cottage on the edge of a lovely pond, convenient to Belfast. Fully equipped kitchen, and has everything you might need to enjoy yourself. The geese and ducks were fantastic neighbors and on the last day, a loon arrived to say farewell.
Carol was an excellent host, and has a a beautiful garden.
The doorways are only 6 feet high, tall people take note.
Quiet, beaytiful and a real gem.
The Perfect Place!!
Our trip to Maine was part of our 35th Anniversary celebration; so we spent a lot of time researching for the “perfect place”. As soon as we drove down the drive and around to the cabin/pond we knew the right choice was made!! This place is “picture perfect”!! Actually, pictures do not even begin to do it justice!! The serenity and beauty of Tilden Pond was more than we could imagine!!
Carol was a gracious host; we entered the cabin to find a vase of fresh cut lilacs along with a welcome note from her and Steve. She came over to greet us and then left us to enjoy their wonderful cabin.
The cabin was adorable; equipped with everything you would need. We enjoyed dinning indoor and out on the screened in porch (for which we ate Lobster almost every night). Canoeing/fishing; and by the way the largemouth and small mouth bass in the pond are plentiful!! And relaxing on the water on rafts and out of the water on the hammock.
Sleeping at the cabin was amazing; the bed faces the pond with a full window view. We slept with the window open and drifted off listening to the sounds of the pond.
The cabin is also centrally located making it great for day trips to Bar Harbor (Acadia National Park), Camden/Rockland, and Port Clyde to visit the Marshall Point Lighthouse (from the Forrest Gump movie).
We haven’t stopped talking about our time on Tilden Pond since we left and hope to return soon!! If you are looking for the “perfect place” you’ve found it!!
The Perfect Get Away.
This place was just what we needed. Quiet, cozy, clean, Incredible scenery, awesome fishing, and great sunsets. Location is out in the country but just a few minutes from Belfast. The screened in porch was perfect for listening to the Loons, and watching Bald Eagles cruising over the pond and diving into the water for a fish. Before the week was over I booked this place for two weeks next year. Wish I could stay all summer.
Serene and lovely. Wildlife viewing superb.
We spent a magical week at this well appointed and charming Maine camp. Located adjacent to the friendly and helpful owner's home, the cabin sits in a perfectly private setting at the waters' edge. We appreciated the cleanliness of the cabin which is equipped with everything one could need for a week at the lake. We enjoyed napping in the hammock, meals on the screened porch, and the ability to watch a movie. The surroundings are serene and lovely. Wildlife viewing was superb.
The house was cute and cozy, the owners were very accommodating and friendly and I would definitely recommend this rental to anyone who wants to escape the hustle and bustle to just relax. We will definitely be going back!
A quiet romantic location surrounded by nature.
We have rented in Europe, USA, and NZ. The Water's Edge Cottage is the best equipped and maintained accommodation we have encountered. This is not the location for party animals, being tranquil and serene. It was a restful place to be quiet and contemplate nature. We definitely wish to return.
Cottage is not far to Belfast with restaurants, theater, sailing, artisans, boat tours and planned events. Also 15 mi. to Camden and the schooners, Mt. Battie and Camden St. Park. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are 1 1/2 hours away.
Other Activities: canoeing, kayaking, bird watching
