Family-sized farm cottage/lovely views/private garden w/hot tub

The cottage is located on our farm, i.e. the farm is your neighbour - idyllic apart from our a few animal noises and twit twoos from our resident barn owls! It’s mainly quiet, with a good sized, private, enclosed, south facing garden with a hot tub and garden furniture on the patio. There’s rolling fields behind and access to country walks. Off road parking for a 2 medium sized cars and free Wi-Fi. Great access to major roads, motorways, tourism, countryside, seaside towns and major cities.

Quiet hours between 23.00 and 07.00 in respect of your neighbour. No guests, unless you have permission from us.
Wash up pots, spills, take out rubbish, put used towels in bath. Pick up dogs mess in the garden and house. Dogs not to be left at property alone..

The setting of the farm house in Newton with Scales with wonderful. The cows roaming about were lovely. The house was great apart from the fact that it says 3 bedrooms. The 3rd bedroom is suitable for small children but I see no way adults could be comfortable in the very small space. It was very warm when we were there and unfortunately, only one of the windows in that very small bedroom opened, making circulation a challenge. The kitchen is well outfitted but some directions on the use of the stove top would have been useful. The washing machine was grand and once we discovered the clothes pegs under the stairs, it was easy to dry everything out on the line. The hot tub was a great added attraction for our twins.

Hi Sandi, thank you for your review. It clearly states on the listing that the box room is for children and a smaller adult. The window that you could not open wide is because it has a fire safety lock on it which is within the fire regulation in the UK. I will look to putting out some more instructions for the stove, thank you for the pointer. Glad you enjoyed your stay with us.

Absolutely lovely stay all round

We loved our stay at Jaynes property, check in was so easy, property is in a beautiful location with rolling fields at the back. House is well kept and has everything you need. We will be back

My husband and I are farmers next door to our let cottage and we have 3 grown up children. After years of doing long-term letting, we decided to try something different and give more people the opportunity to stay in a lovely farm cottage. We can be more hands on in looking after the cottage now. We have many happy memories in this cottage as we lived in it for 10 years raising a young family in it and them playing in the garden. We always enjoyed the south facing garden, as it is a sun trap until late in the day. It’s a lovely quiet spot apart from regular farm noises and visiting children always love seeing the cows and calves and feeling that they are part of the farm.

Why they chose this property

The cottage is a great base for days out to major cities, seaside, tourist activities, the Lake District and lots of country villages. We are in a very centralised spot, near shops, restaurants and cafes but quiet enough to be able to chill out. The property houses a luxurious hot tub which is very easy to use, bbq area, chimnea and garden furniture so that you can relax in the garden. The cottage has everything you need for a family break.

What makes this property unique

Countryside location but not so remote that you aren’t near civilisation if you want. It is different because you can be sitting in the hot tub, with a glass of bubbly whilst overlooking green fields. Both children and adults have given us great feedback as it is a treat being able to see a farm at work, without being too near it.
