Otters Abode is a converted Cotswold stone barn in the heart of Blockley, one of the North Cotswolds' most characterful villages. The open-plan living and dining area rises to a full-height 17ft barn ceiling, with a comfortable lounge and a fully fitted kitchen with dishwasher. It's a good space for cooking a relaxed dinner after a day of exploring.
The downstairs master bedroom has a King Size bed and a freestanding roll-top slipper bath, so you can soak in the bedroom by candlelight. An iron spiral staircase climbs to a mezzanine twin room, which suits friends or a second couple. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and WC.
Outside, the garden runs alongside the brook, with a terrace for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine to the sound of running water.

The neighbourhood
Blockley is a real working Cotswold village with a history of silk mills. It is quieter and less touristy than its famous neighbours, and it's full of honey-stone cottages and footpaths. The award-winning community shop and café are about a 5-minute walk away, and the village has traditional pubs for dinner.
The cottage is a good base for exploring the North Cotswolds:
Batsford Arboretum and Sezincote: about 5 minutes' drive Moreton-in-Marsh (market and train station): about 10 minutes Chipping Campden: about 10 minutes Broadway and Broadway Tower: about 15 minutes Stow-on-the-Wold: about 15 minutes Bourton-on-the-Water: about 25 minutes Hidcote Manor Garden: about 15 minutes Stratford-upon-Avon: about 30 minutes Blenheim Palace: about 45 minutesThe Cotswold Way and many circular walks start from the doorstep, so bring your wellies.
Other things to note
The spiral staircase makes the cottage unsuitable for young children or guests with limited mobility. No pets and no smoking. The cottage is ideal for couples, anniversaries, honeymoons and friends' weekends away.
