About this property

Watersedge Apartment- cosy home by the sea

Watersedge Apartment is a lovely one bedroom apartment located in the heart of Anstruther. Set on the historic Castle Street which looks directly over the Dreel Burn as it flows into the Firth of Forth and over the harbour towards the lighthouse and Isle of May, it the perfect spot for a quiet stay by the sea. Sleeps two adults or two adults and two children if using the sofa bed.

Entering through the main door, the apartment is on the ground level. A few steps lead into the accommodation with the compact but well-equipped kitchen positioned centrally. The lounge is to the front with an exposed stone wall, original wooden beams and a wood burning stove. There is a dining area by the window. The bedroom is to the rear with a double bed and fitted storage and window looking out onto the courtyard. The bathroom with shower over bath is beyond the bedroom. Guests have access to the enclosed courtyard area which has seating and is a sheltered spot for some afternoon reading or morning coffee. Ideally suited to a couple or young family, there is a sofabed within the lounge allowing Watersedge Apartment to host up to two adults and two children comfortably (small surcharge for use of sofabed). Parking is available on Castle St or in the surrounding streets. With nothing but the sea wall between you and sheltered beach, it’s a fantastic location all year round- paddle in the water and watch the resident Dreel ducks in the warmer weather or listen to the crash of the waves from the cosy lounge in the winter. All of the local restaurants, coffee shops and of course fish and chip shops are all within a few minutes’ walk and the coastal path is literally on the doorstep.

Fab break away

Had a lovely time in apartment. It was absolutely spotless, had everything we needed and very cosy. Location is perfect, out the front door and you have a see view. Also, a short walk to shops and restaurants. Plenty places to go for a longer walk if you want. Owners kept in touch with all information needed, and left phone number should we need any assistance. All in all, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend.

Fantastic one bedroomed ground floor apartment in a superb location very central to the town centre with its abundence of restaurants, cafes and pubs, all pet friendly. Come out of the front door and you are on one of the beach also pet friendly. Superb sunrise and sunsets. There is parking outside the property on castle street but also street parking nearby and esplanade parking across beach reached at low tide by steps ( high tide around the road 5min walk). The property is surprisingly spacious for 2 people ( and 1 dog) the lounge is at front of property with comfy sofa and chairs and large wall mounted TV. Each room has a voice activated Google controlled heater very effecient a bit awkward to understand how to change settings via remote control (instructions are available). Lights in lounge also Google controlled. Kitchen is small but perfectly formed and has everything you would need. Has a coffee pod machine bring pods with you as we couldn’t find any in local coop supermarket.instant coffee/ tea etc was provided but no pods. Bedroom very cosy with a standard double bed if you are used to a king or queen size it’s quite small. A small hall with room to hang coats and contains utility cupboard with washing machine ( didn’t use) leads to a fab bathroom with a large bath and great powerful shower. Loads of hot water never ran out. Next to flat front door is the door to the fully enclosed communal courtyard garden very handy to sit with a coffee and for the dog to sniff.
