Visiting Hammarö alone was refreshing, especially staying at this lovely cottage. I stayed for five nights, exploring local trails and fishing spots during the day and returning each evening to enjoy stunning sunsets from the balcony. The owners were friendly too and always available if I needed anything.

Beautiful lakeside cottage with lovely hosts

We had a fantastic fortnight in this well equipped cottage overlooking beautiful Lake Vanern. The hosts were very welcoming, and they provided whatever help and information we needed throughout our stay. We had a very relaxing holiday, swimming or rowing in the lake, or walking through local forests most days, and taking trips into Karlstad and other nearby towns (including Kristinehamn and Sunne) for culture, shopping and good food. Our sons are young adults but there’s also a lot on offer for families with younger children too.
