Perfect Celebration House

My family and I had a wonderful time for my birthday celebration. The house was a super layout with loads of room. We loved visiting the animals with Damien and used the hot tub. Never used BBQ hut as was so dark and more comfy in the warm house. Such a peaceful location and would love to return some day.

Perfect venue for dad's 80th birthday

We had a lovely weekend at the Capercaillie to celebrate my dad's 80th birthday. The house is clean, with lots of room so that 10 people can be accommodated comfortably. A lot of thought and care has been taken to furnish and equip the house, and the hosts are quick to respond to any queries. All this surrounded in beautiful, quiet countryside.

Lovely long weekend

We were greeted in the house by a fabulous hamper of beautifully curated local items of food and beverages which we really appreciated Everywhere was clean to a very high standard. Beautiful toiletries in all of the bathrooms We loved the bbq hut and the hot tub and enjoyed having Tracy along to give us some treatments The animals were beautiful/fabulous and it was a joy to walk round and feed them every day; sometimes twice a day Most of all we loved the location, the tranquility and the stars late at night and early morning - simply stunnning

Fantastic experience

Family get together

Had a great weekend at the Capercaillie with family. The accommodation is first class and the hot tub a bonus enjoyed by all ages. The grandkids loved feeding the animals and exploring the farm. Customer service from booking right through the weekend was excellent. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for holiday accommodation

Great house in beautiful location

Stayed here for a weekend with friends. Couldn’t fault the house. It was very well equipped, clean and comfortable. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. The highlight was feeding the farm animals though. Such a lovely location. Would definitely go back.

A fabulous 70th birthday weekend

What a wonderful time my family and I had at Capercaillie. The house was even more impressive than the photos on the website. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, a well equipped kitchen and two lovely seating areas. And a delicious welcome basket catering for my gluten-free husband. The grandchildren (2, 5 and 8) loved the safe, enclosed garden with its barbecue hut. But the high spot was the 'meet and greet' the heritage animals and chicks. They also loved the play shed.

Beautiful property in a beautiful location.

The property was spacious and comfortable with all the equipment necessary for any eventuality. The wooden floors were excellent for a dog friendly property as was the stair gate at the top. The location was exceptional and the amenities on the farm were great. We didn’t use the cafe but the shop and being able to feed the animals were an added bonus. The barbecue hut and hot tub were great fun. Friendly, helpful owners, great communication. Highly recommend.

Amazing week at Airhouses

Myself and my family spent a week in Capercaillie, a beautiful house where everything was provided all appliances were top quality, nothing was too much trouble for the owners The setting was peaceful with some wonderful views. we had a three year old in our party who loved the blue hut with numerous toys for her to play with. This was our 3rd visit and will definitely be back in the future.

Beautiful countryside

The capercaillie is a beautiful House overlooking wonderful Scottish countryside.the owners where very helpful with anything we needed to know,there where eight in our party and the capercaillie catered for all of us easily. A lovely modern property with everything you would need. A fantastic hot Tub and the amazing BBQ hut a great idea. We all had a wonderful week on the farm feeding the animals all very friendly.we would certainly stay again if visiting Scotland

Excellent weekend stay

We had a wonderful stay with 3 generations at The Capercaillie for my husband’s 70th birthday. Everything was spotlessly clean, everything you needed was provided and we loved the rural location and surroundings. The three young children in the party enjoyed seeing the farm animals and visiting the well-stocked playhouse. Our welcoming bag was also much appreciated and a real luxury and Damien was very friendly and informative. I’m not at all surprised that shortly after we stayed it was announced as the best luxury experience in Scotland’s tourism awards.

Great weekend with family

I booked Capercaillie for a family birthday. It was perfect. We had children aged 9 and 14 with us and they loved the animals on the farm. They even got to feed some of them. The hot tub was brilliant. We were cooking out own meals and the kitchen had everything you need for a big crowd. The dining room table seats 10 comfortably. There's even a BBQ shed!

Celebrating Christmas with the girls

This is our 2nd Christmas get together in The Capercallie so we had high expectations which were well and truly met. Airhouses is definitely a home from home. Everything is thought of and catered for and at this time of year the Christmas tree and lights are a magical touch. We enjoyed our hot chocolates in the pop up Dairy Cafe on Saturday morning followed by a walk to see the animals. We only have a 30 minute drive which is a bonus and once there you can’t help but relax!

A dream

We had a wonderful time staying at the the Capercaillie. It’s a beautiful location, perfect for young children. Its quiet and safe; our children were out on the farm nearly all day. The hosts are incredibly kind and our family is already looking forward to staying there again. Greatly appereciated, Rouda, P.S Carol, can I please have the recipe for your lemon loaf? My mother wont stop talking about it.

Phenomenal

This was our third stay at Airhouses and it was perfect. From start to finish we could not fault a thing. When we arrived, it was spotless and Capercaillie had been decorated since the last time we were there, so it looks fantastic. Damian was there to greet us and, as always, was very friendly and helpful for the duration of our stay, as were all the people we came in contact with. This is a great place for all ages and I cannot recommend it enough - it’s worth every penny. Thank you all so much.

Another great stay at The Capercaillie

We have recently returned from another fabulous stay at The Capercaillie House. This was our third visit and we will return. The house is extremely spacious, there were 8 of us in total however we would still have been comfortable with 10. The house is very well stocked and we had a lovely welcome basket of goodies. The beds are comfortable, the towels, robes and slippers all great and the customer service never disappoints. The outdoor hot tub is huge and a brilliant way to relax. Would 100% recommend this for a lovely relaxing getaway! Oh and we LOVED watching the animals from the decking and windows.

Great place, excellent condition and staff. Challenging access to transportation.

The capercaillie is a great place to stay. The rooms and living space is very spacious, clean and every utensil provided. The farm is really beautiful and the surrounding environment as a whole is lovely. The staff are friendly and respond quickly when called upon. We had great stay. The only challenge we faced was accessing transportation. No taxis or Uber. It will be beneficial for Airhouses to make arrangements for transportation and even city tours for her clients, this will make it a special attraction for many.

A wonderful holiday for the whole family

Wow! Capercaille is amazing. The house is beautiful and has everything you need, the farm is wonderful, we loved meeting the animals. It’s in a great location, we visited some wonderful beaches and also visited Edinburgh for the day. The BBQ hut is brilliant and we really enjoyed using the hot tub too. The owners were so attentive, and friendly. There was a cafe on site which was a nice treat! The little shop has some great gifts and essential items if needed. There is also a little play house for kids full of toys, games and books. My children loved completing a treasure hunt too. I would highly recommend and also hope to go back one day

Fabulous Stay & Stunning Accommodation

Just back from a weekend family birthday break at the Capercaille. The house is absolutely stunning, spotlessly clean and Carole and Damian have thought of everything you could need to make your stay as relaxing as possible. The sizes of the bedrooms and en-suites are amazing and there is plenty of room downstairs for everyone to have space to relax. We loved the hot tub which we used every day and also had a family BBQ using the indoor BBQ hut which was fab. All the family loved the campfire and bread making experience and cooking marshmallows which we would thoroughly recommend doing . There is also an on site coffee shop on a Saturday which is a great addition and a more recent addition of a sauna which a few of us used and loved it . Great to relax, enjoy some herbal tea , the fabulous views and if brave enough , the plunge pool ! We also used the honesty shop which again is great for fresh eggs, ice cream and other little bits should you need it . Must also mention meeting and feeding the animals which was a lovely experience. Have some great pictures of goats, llamas, donkeys, pigs . We were a family of all ages and everyone had a wonderful stay. Can’t thank Carol and Damian enough for everything and helping us create wonderful memories for my Dads special birthday. Would not hesitate to recommend and can’t wait to return again .

Family time at the Capercaillie

This was our 2nd great stay at Airhouses. The Capercaillie is a superb large house set amongst trees on farmland in the Scottish Borders. Beautiful secluded location with great views. There is a private gated garden surrounding the house which is ideal for the dog to be off lead. It was lovely to be able to listen to the sounds of the countryside. Plenty of lovely walks available to seek out. A variety of attractions are not too far away. The property is nice and spacious to accommodate the family aged 7 - 70. The customer service pre and during the stay was excellent. Lots of pre visit information of what to expect with a downloadable app was very much appreciated. Pre visit emails were answered promptly and whilst there the staff were more than willing to chat about the farm, the surrounding area or local attractions. The house was immaculately clean and well equipped. Beds etc were very comfortable. The hot tub which was a great hit with the family was checked on daily. The highlight of the holiday for our grandchildren were the farm animals all around, with Shetland ponies directly in front of the house. They were able to wander to the hens, pigs, donkeys, alpacas, goats quite safely. A massive thank you to Damien the general manager taking us all on the meeting and feeding the animals - a new feature this year! We were also able to enjoy a visit to the coffee shop, another new feature to us this year. Such a peaceful place to enjoy family time together.

Amazing Airhouses

We return to amazing Airhouses time and time again in all seasons. This winter we booked the Capercaille for the mid-term holidays, our grandchildren had a keen desire to return to “the big house”. Over the years we’ve spent time in most of the lodges and they are all luxurious, well-appointed and equipped. The setting is amongst rolling hills, beautiful scenery and petting animals all adds to the feeling of being with nature, the children love to feed the animals with permitted treats. Waking with the cockerel and watching the golden sunrise in winter was magical.
