About this property
Bill's Cottage - Turkdean - Pet Friendly
You arrive at Bill's Cottage along a quiet country lane, passing farmland on each side with glimpses out to the hills in the distance. It is set on a working farm just outside Turkdean and Northleach and has been renovated to a high standard while keeping many of the original features in place. The cottage is the perfect setting for a family get together, or a reunion of friends who just need time away to reminisce and build new memories. You will find wooden beams and an original fireplace with its exposed stone surround, stone flooring and window seats and images showing the restoration process of this old farm cottage. Providing a base to explore the surrounding area you have everything you could need for your time in the Cotswolds.
The heart of the cottage is a large sitting room which looks out to the garden. Gather here in front of the fire for long conversations, planning trips and competitive matches of charades. If you're staying during the summer you can take your meals outside to the lovely garden where you are enveloped in the scent of lavender, but if not the kitchen has a dining area for serving meals made from the ingredients you bought at the local markets found that day. Upstairs three bedrooms give you the rest you need after days spent laughing, walking and marvelling at the Cotswold countryside.
In the garden you may hear the hum of farmyard machinery which adds to this rural setting. With an outdoor dining area and a couple of loungers you can bring a book outside, watch the children and dog race around the lawn and take advantage of the BBQ for slow cooked meals. You are spoilt for locations to visit here, Cheltenham is around a thirty minute drive where you can meander through the regency town's streets. Much loved Bourton-on-the-Water and Burford are nearby and you have a choice of National Trust estates.
