De Bonte Koe Farmhouse is an authentic Twente farmhouse located near the Eerde Nature Reserve (between the town of Ommen and Brinkdorp Den Ham). With its own fully fenced property of over 3,200 m², this unique location offers plenty of space and privacy. The Eerde and Eerder Achterbroek nature reserves are within walking distance (800 metres), as is the village of Den Ham (700 metres).

This farmhouse features luxurious, hotel-quality beds and has, on the ground floor, a kitchen with a dining area, a living room, a large master bedroom with an extra-wide double bed—plus enough space for a cot, if needed— and an additional bedroom with spacious beds measuring 2.1 metres long and an extra sink. In the central hallway, there is a separate toilet and a bathroom with an additional toilet. On the upper floor, there are two bedrooms (each sleeping two people) with sinks and spacious beds measuring 2.1 metres. The spacious beds can be used as double or single beds as desired. The living room has patio doors, making the patio an extension of the living room. Adjacent to the living room is the “underschoer”—a covered alcove where tools used to be hung to dry, but which is now a delightful place to relax, even when it rains.

This farmhouse is easily accessible by public transport; the bus even stops right outside the door. The house is located on an N-road with the associated traffic volume, but for many, this does not disturb the peace and quiet, and the road offers advantages in terms of accessibility by car, public transport, and bicycle. The Den Ham–Ommen bike path runs right past the house and offers a perfect opportunity to explore nature. For example, taking a shortcut via De Groene Jager swimming pool and the “Archemer brugje,” it’s only a 12-minute (4 km) bike ride to the foot of the Lemeler-/Archemerberg (78 metres high, with views stretching from Zwolle to Germany).

This house is located on the border of Salland and Twente and is the ideal base for hikers, cyclists, sports enthusiasts, and nature lovers alike.
