This was our first time staying in this cottage, previously we stayed in one of the other cottages. The property was clean and spacious and the surrounding gardens and lake area were great for the kids. This was the 3rd time our family have used the property and we will no doubt use them again in the future.

A family holiday in an Idyllic spot of beautiful Devon
We hired 3 of the cottages , Braefoot, Royd and Smithy. Please accept this as a review of all three cottages. Our host Janine was very responsive to any concerns we had and put right minor problems, straight away. The properties were very comfortable amd sited in a quiet spot with a lovely field for a walk and play area for the children. There were two lakes you could walk round and sit quietly enjoying the peace and quiet of the area. The village of West Down was a 20 / 30 min walk from the properties. We used the cute community shop occasionally and ate in the Crown pub. The food was good and the staff very helpful and friendly. There were lovely sandy beaches, not too busy at Croyd, Braunton and Putsborough. We were able to do short bits of the Coastal Path as well. Lots to do locally. Barnstaple was easy to get to and worth a visit.

A June stay in Devon
The cottage was fine but a few tweaks are maybe needed to make it really nice.
In the kitchen the cutlery was very light weight. There was a selection of glasses but only 2 small glasses. The lounge area could have done with a table or standard light rather than the central ceiling light. In the bathroom where was nowhere to put toiletries, a shelf or small unit would have been useful.
The weather when we arrived was unseasonably cold and it was lovely to find the heating was on, so good for drying our towels.
When we found out that our toaster wasn't working it was replaced quickly.
The setting of the cottage was very peaceful.
