This is, without question, the most appalling VRBO experience I’ve ever had. I booked this property in March for a family trip in July, and received confirmation from the owner, Mikey, who even sent me WhatsApp messages in the weeks leading up to our stay.After my family of seven arrived—exhausted from 10 hours of travel—we found ourselves locked out, with no access to the flat. Multiple attempts were made to reach Mikey via WhatsApp, phone, email, and VRBO. After countless messages and calls, he finally responded and casually told us, "You should never have been able to book this."Excuse me? He accepted this booking four months ago.We were stranded in a foreign country, with children, after a long travel day, with no access to accommodations and no accountability from the owner.Mikey made a half-hearted attempt to “help” by sending a screenshot of an alternate location (with no address or availability that night) it was apparent he had listed the property on another platform—blaming VRBO for the mix-up. Clearly, this was double-booked and we were left to deal with the fallout.Thanks to VRBO’s protected reservation system, we were able to find a hotel (which I am still waiting to be reimbursed),but this experience was unacceptable, irresponsible, and absolutely disgraceful.Avoid this listing, this owner, and anything associated with “Be More Homely Property Management Ltd.”This company should not be trusted with your travel plans. Full stop.
