Hello guest, so grateful for your direct comments. I hope you dont mind to quote them here on the site to the benefit of future guests, as your words reflect the house so well.
You wrote: To let you know what wonderful time we had here at Mas Julian. As a family we have rented Villas in Mykonos, Corsica and Puglia over the last few summers and we all agree that this is absolutely the best. This house is just fantastic and so well equipped. Sharp knives and an icemaker on top of everything elses we need in the kitchen. Shopping for our meals in Mausanne has been a joy and cooking on the gas plancha has been perfect. We did a gigit d'agneau last night that was out of this world. It's more than we could want.
Lovely villa, with good sized bedrooms & bathrooms. Comfortable beds, aircon works well. Kitchen with all mod cons inc. washing machine & drier, 2 x dishwasher.Several shaded outside sitting/dining areasExcellent, large pool at bottom of extensive gardens.Surrounding villages have several good restautants & shops. Easy access to Avignon, Arles, St Remy (great market Weds).Highly recommended

What a pleasure to welcome you and your beautiful family. I think the pool was much liked!!
Our group of six found this villa most wonderful, with it’s lovely private setting, the large patio with outdoor dining and seating areas, pool and most importantly the interior of the home far exceeded our expectations.
We had an extended family vacation for 10 people. Plenty of room, beautiful house and surrounding property and a great location to everything you want to see in Provence.
Really enjoyed our time here. Was difficult to find at first (instructions on the VRBO check-in email could be much clearer - or otherwise someone should have proactively reached out to us to explain how to get there - though we eventually figured it out after getting in touch with Wolfgang directly), but other than that we were very happy with the property. Lots of space, homely Provencal feel, great outdoor space, great pool, and great location. Very happy with our stay overall. Thank you!

Sorry Graham, we forgot to send you directions in advance and we on purpose dont have the house signposted to keep the privacy and curious people away from our treasured guests. having said that WAZE works well.
We are a family of 15 in total, from ages 7 months to 72 years, gathering together for a reunion. Mas Julian provided comfort and a central point for exploring many of the towns of Provence. The nearest town, Fontvielle, was charming, with everything you need for supplies. Wolfgang (owner) was very helpful at all times, and the home was well appointed and the grounds beautifully landscape. The children enjoyed the pool and the trampoline. We had a wonderful experience thanks to Mas Julian and all it had to offer us.

Thank you for your great review, hope to see you back one day, have a great summer still!
Mas Julian is an extraordinary place. Tucked away in a beautifully landscaped garden and set among olive orchards at the foot of the Alpilles, the villa is both elegant and comfortable. The location is ideal - a few kilometers by quiet roads to Fontvielle, 20 mins to Arles and its Roman amphitheater, and not much further to Nimes, Pont du Gard, and St. Remy. The property abuts the Parc National des Alpilles with trails that run into the hills as far as Les-Baux-de-Provence and beyond. Wolfgang is a generous and thoughtful host. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Thank you Matthew, such a well written review, encapsulating all in a few phrases.. Always a pleasure to hear that effort creates happiness which at this place is not too difficult, I should add..
Wolfgang
There were eight of house, six adults and three teens. We had a great time together. Highlights included eating our meals on the terrace, swimming in the pool and lounging in the outdoor sitting area. Some of us played ping pong. We made many day trips to other towns in the area. A wonderful week together.

Thank you Herb, yes those are the key activities in Provence heartland, with one objective overall: to be with your loved ones, any generation and relationship- this house creates bonds and repair beyond imagination. We already had an engagement and are shortly expecting two marriages.
We travelled from Australia to celebrate a significant birthday with family and friends. Mas Julian was the perfect venue. The house and grounds are beautiful and spacious, it is a wonderful base for exploring the many lovely towns and villages of Provence and the walking trails of Les Alpilles. Wolfgang is a generous and responsive host, who also provided great information about local shopping and dining. The house is well stocked with cooking utensils and appliances, dining settings, glasses, cutlery and serving platters so you can shop at local markets and cook at home for a large group. We loved our time there and we hope to return, as one week was not enough. Thank you Wolfgang and Dominique for the opportunity to stay in your home. I want a photo.
We arranged this holiday, for a broad group of friends and family, to share in a milestone birthday and a milestone wedding anniversary. As a backdrop to these events, Mas Julian was perfect, but it was so much more than that. The rooms were spacious and the ensuites were fantastic, the living areas were luxurious (although we spent most of our time outside), the pool was amazing and the gardens extensive and mature. The location was ideal, being rural and yet close to amenities. Our family and friends haven't stopped talking about our stay and are unlikely too any time soon.
The location is in the heart of Provence, the property is well-maintained and the room breakdown was perfect for our family gathering. We had 4 generations of family meet here in mid-June and we loved every moment of it. The beds were comfortable, the air-conditioning worked beautifully and the setting was stunningly picturesque. The kitchen was well equipped, the bikes worked great and everybody loved the pool - especially the toddlers. From Fontvielle it's a 1 hour drive to Avignon, L'isle sur la sorgue, the salt flats of Carmague and Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Saint Remy and Baux-de-Provence are even closer and very charming. Wolfgang was responsive from beginning to end. We loved our stay and will treasure the memory.
Our family & friends trip was a belated big celebration for my husband.
Wolfgang & Dominique's beautiful property did not disappoint for a long 15 day stay. The large main Mas was done in charming French country decor. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils, dishes, a BBQ grill and all appliances to make meals at home. We shopped for food at the local grocery stores but best of all-at fun local farmers markets. We were happy to have 2 dishwashers & washer/dryer. A big dining room held all of us even when our guest amount was over 10. We ate out on the patio when the weather was good. We rented all 3 structures & could accommodated more guests, but this enabled friends to have some privacy.
The house was very far back on a gravel road so a car was an absolute must. There was a trail behind the house we enjoyed exploring. We drove to so many great local sites- Arles, Le Beaux, Tarascon, Aix in Provence, St. Remy, Fontvieille for sightseeing, shopping and delicious dining. A pool, a creek, an even old well gave the grounds a country feeling-so different from anything we have experienced from a city vacation. We live in Los Angeles, so a 1700's French farmhouse was a very unique experience. If we had questions or glitches, Wolfgang was quick to respond. Bridgette, the housekeeper took care of it. We highly recommend Mas Julian for a big group of friends & family. It was truly a trip of a lifetime! Merci beaucoup!

Old country french splendor on beautiful property
The house is very comfortable for a group. The drive up is impressive and the grounds were suffering from a drought, but lovely. We used 5 of the rooms. The owner left a very nice welcome list with restaurant recommendations in the surrounding area. We cooked some meals, shopped for food nearby in Tarascon. We had lovely evenings on the patio. Each bedroom had functioning AC units. The pool was lovely, although cold this time of year. If I have one complaint it is that the house was completely shut up, exterior shutters included, when we arrived and it had not been cleaned properly. I believe it is because their regular cleaner was out. The beds and sheets were clean and ready for us, but the floors had not been cleaned. Each guest gets one bath towel and one hand towel, no washcloth. There are beach towels for the pool. 3 of the 5 bedrooms we used had no showers, only baths. There is a washer and dryer available as need be, but we were not told that the dryer needs to be emptied of accumulated water, because it does not vent outside. We figured it out when the dryer stopped drying. One of two ovens was operational. The microwave did not work. When we arrived, the screen for the stove hood had fallen down and it was missing one screw so that we could not fix it. These are small complaints in the larger picture, but worth noting. The house has a relaxed elegance that is lovely. If it had been opened up and cleaned and ready for us I would have no complaints.

Dear tenants: Thank you for the nice review, I think you may have arrived earlier than thought and could not reach cleaner half an hour before your arrival, and that’s why the house was still closed up. Now our so efficient house keeper Brigitte is back from from a 2 month health break so no worry about future cleaning or house being not open. We enjoyed your company and you must have had sensational for this time of the year! Next time come early in the season!!
My family of 5 and another family of 4 stayed here for 6 nights from June 10-16. The house itself is truly incredible. It felt like you were on a French estate and had total seclusion and privacy. The property is perhaps a half mile or less off the main road, and it is a little confusing to find it the first time you try. However, after we found the property it was easy to get there again. The house is beautiful, with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms on the top floor. Of the 4 bathrooms, only one had a shower. The rest of the bathrooms had a bathtub. The main bedroom had a private terrace which was really nice to enjoy time in the mornings with a cup of coffee.
There is a private guest house, with a living room, kitchenette, and two bedrooms and two bathrooms. A ping pong table outside and multiple sitting areas. The landscaping is breathtaking.
From the house, you can walk down some steps and there is a really neat area that has a pond and a little creek that runs through the property, and then some steps down to the pool area. The pool was fantastic. Perfect temperature and very clean. Our kids spent a ton of time in the pool.
If you like/need to exercise, it is tough to do. The main road leading to the property has no shoulder, and trucks and cars go speeding by pretty fast. You can run around the gravel roads just outside the property grounds, but you end up just doing a bunch of laps. Behind the property, there is some sort of national park or something that has long gravel roads that go through large hills past rock formations and lots of vegetation. This is where you want to go to run. Very beautiful.
The Wi-Fi was not very good. There are two separate routers, one in the kitchen and one in the main sitting room. If you went out onto the porch you would not have very good signal. I would suggest the owner install a Wi-Fi mesh system or something to help with this.
You absolutely, positively, need a car. The property is a solid 20 minute walk Fontvieille, the nearest town, and this is down the same sketchy road. A car is a must.
All in all, it is an incredible place to have a vacation. Beautiful grounds and secluded and quiet.

Hi This is a truly great review! Given your observations about internet we now have been able to improve it to 4.5 Mbps and as you can see we have three family members doing teleworking and at same time watching internet tv next door.
Best regards
Wolfgang

Accommodatie ,inrichting , keuken equipment , etc . Zeer goed in orde met alleen maar spullen van de hoogste kwaliteit. Heerlijk zwembad. Inclusief zwem accessoires ( duikbrillen , flippers , ligbedden bij de pool , etc.)
This is a stunning property will a great outdoor terrace for eating and drinks. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable and the house feels like a family home. The pool ( good size) is located in a beautiful garden which has some magnificent tress that are beautifully lit in the evening. This is a great location for exploring les Alpilles and there are great shops and restaurants close by. We will return!
What a gem of a property! We were three families with five children total. The property fit us all very comfortably in the main and guest house., which is beautifully decorated. We bought delicious treats from the adjacent town, Maussane about ten minutes away, and ate at the lovely outdoor tables most nights. The kids did not want to leave the large pool which was equipped with a variety of floats - turtle, swans and other. If they did leave it was to jump on the adjacent trampoline. We ate figs from the surrounding trees. It was heaven. For those those children allow them to leave, the property is close to many tourist sites including Baux, Arles, and Avignon. Thank you. We had an amazing time. We will be back soon we hope.

Delighted about your visit, yes the house ideal is for families, regardless of age groups, and the pool area with trampoline and figs unbeatable. Locations you quoted are some of the best in Southern France, for sure. Particularly Arles up and coming art scene and les Baux of outstanding natural beauty. And: Rare to find a house south of Alpilles where a potential mistral is defeated by the location of the house, south of the Alpilles. Thank you and come back next year.
Just returned from a week in this amazing villa. Wolfgang and Dominique were amazing hosts from the day we booked until the day we left, helping with everything from directions to restaurants to routes for running, greeting us with gracious hospitality when we arrived the first day. The house is spacious and every pretty, uniquely decorated bedroom has it's own lovely bathroom. The fact that the bedrooms are air conditioned was a great bonus during an unusually hot week. The kitchen is more than well equipped with everything one could need if one is so inclined to cook while on holiday! The living spaces are comfortable and inviting and quiet when you need to have some indoor time. The grounds are so private and extensive that it made it challenging to leave and explore Provence each day. Our family of five spent hours in the pool, sitting on the huge patio and exploring all of the corners of the property. The presence of a little stream provided endless entertainment and was a wonderful bonus! The children, ages 8, 11 and 11 loved the ping pong table, trampoline and all of the thoughtfully provided pool toys. We really could not have asked for more with this beautiful home, inside and out. Without question we would return and try to spend even more time here next time. Thank you Wolfgang and Dominique!!
