This location was absolutely peaceful and relaxing. The view was beautiful and the trails were short but sweet. The accommodations were very comfortable too.I highly recommend staying at this rental.
We loved our stay here! The walking trail trailhead is right next to the property which was a wonderful surprise. The place itself is extremely comfortable with everything you could need. We hope to stay here again.

The Captains Quarters is a great location away from it all with a beautiful view. Host is extremely helpful and his place was spotless. This was our second tim
If you like a quiet space in paradise, this is it! Located at the end of a quiet road and nestled in the trees with a view of the bay, this very clean, spacious suite is highly recommended. It has everything to make you feel right at home.
Gorgeous views and location. I had a couple of sunny days to drive both roads of the "Y" and do some hiking. Saw eagles, whales, seals, otters and deer...no bears!Very clean, well-kept home with a comfy bed. I hope to come back.
Captains Quarters was a perfect spot to stay for our Kodiak vacation. Clean, well stocked, and comfortable with amazing view. Lonnie was easy to communicate with and checked in with us to be sure we had all we needed. We hope to stay here again on future trips.
The Captains quarters were extremely spacious, had a phenomenal view of the bay out the windows (binoculars were provided).and beautiful beach front trail a few feet from the location. The host was great on providing information and the units was extremely well stocked including water, food and condiments. I would state this is the best rental I have every had.

We so enjoyed our stay at the Captain’s Quarters!!! Such a lovely place! Very clean and had everything we needed and more! The king bed was extremely comfortable and decor was perfectly appointed. The view was breathtaking!!! We so enjoyed the deck and the trail down to the beach. The Spruce Cape Trail head is right next to the house. We enjoyed hiking it several times and walking the beach below, collecting some rocks and driftwood. We had a hard time leaving today - What special memories this place has left in our hearts! Thank you!!! Back to GR, Michigan!
Beautiful location and view, beautiful sunset, convenient, comfortable. Enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it.
We were confused and thought it was a bed and breakfast. It was recommended to us by another BandB in Kodiak. We looked at the website which states it’s a BannB. Also, there’s a sign on the property that says bed and breakfast. The website directed us to VRBO, the VRBO description is accurate.
We we’re also surprised we had to take out our trash when we left. Have never been asked to do that!

Thank you for staying with us and thank you for your comments. Our website though slightly out of date does state we do not serve breakfast, but provide a full kitchen for your convenience. disposing of garbage in the bear proof dumpster provided nearby was recommended to avoid conflict with frequent bear visits just outside your door, although bears are fun to view from a safe distance, up close, and personal can be hazardous.

Great view, quiet place to stay
Stayed here two nights and lucked out and had sunny beautiful weather! The view from the rental looking over the bay is gorgeous. There is beach access right out the door (we had no problem getting up and down to the beach but could be difficult for some). There is also a trail you can take right from the property that goes to another beach and an overlook that was amazing at sunset. The rental was very clean and bed was comfortable. The main bedroom was very large. The bedroom tv had no cable but there was a DVD player, but no dvd’s were to be found. So you might want to bring some from home if that’s something you want to use. Overall, we had a great stay and loved our weekend in Kodiak!
Captains Quarters is an amazing B N B, Breathtaking views,
We had a wonderful time, beautiful place. Very clean, comfortable. ENjoy every the place very much.
This spot was perfect for our needs. About 10 minutes outside of "town", with an amazing view of the little bay. The place was extremely clean and very cozy. Lon was quick to reply and exceptionally nice. Couldn't have asked for a better stay.
Great location. easy communication with host. friendly and made accommodations on our arrival time. Plenty of space in the bedroom and living room/kitchenette area. There is a calmness with the trees and water surrounding the property.
There are upper living quarters and so can hear footsteps and water/pump noises etc.
Overall Fantastic. Would stay here again!
Located at the end of a private and secluded road, aptly called Woodland Dr, the quiet and natural setting is so relaxing you feel like your in a remote location but only 5 minutes from downtown.
We have traveled all over Alaska and find Kodiak to be absolutely our favorite place to be.
What makes this property unique
Step outside your door and your at the beginning of the Spruce Cape trail that runs 1/3 mile out the cape along the coast. Wildlife and scenery are spectacular. Eagles, otters, and whales are frequently seen and occasionally bears! During July and August you wake to the sound of salmon splashing close to shore, just teasing you to catch them. It's always fun to hook one before breakfast. In summer the sun doesn't set until 11PM and the sunsets on the oceanfront deck are unbelievable.
