About this property

Milestone - Greet, near Winchcombe

Surrounded by countryside and garden views in the charming village of Greet, Milestone is a hidden treasure. The property dates back over 300 years and has been wonderfully renovated with a classic, contemporary finish that you will feel at home in. Whether you choose to stay in and relax or explore the area, Milestone is a perfect choice for multi-generational families getting together.

The main house is where you will spend your time with a fantastic orangery which is incredibly spacious and flooded with light. There is no end to possible entertainment with a projector and piano, or you could simply enjoy conversation over drinks. In the dining room you will be surprised by the glass-covered well, an unusual feature which adds intrigue to your meals together. With space to spread out there is also a comfortable snug if anybody wishes to curl up with a good book. The annexe provides accommodation for an additional five guests and also houses an infra-red sauna (available for an additional charge).

Planted with traditional English flowers, rose arches and topiary, the garden at Milestone is delightful. Sit outside and watch the steam trains pass during the day and in the evenings cherish the stillness of this country retreat. There is a table and chairs so you can dine al fresco and a lawned area for the dogs and children to play. Milestone is in a gated courtyard with parking for 5 cars.

*Dogs: 2 well-behaved dog welcome at the cottage at an additional cost each. Please let us know if you will be bringing a dog and we will then revise your booking confirmation. The pet fee is NOT included in your booking fee. A request for an additional fee per pet will be sent to you after you have placed your booking. Your pet fee must be paid for before your arrival date.

*An additional fee applies for use of the infra-red sauna.

Main House

Ground Floor

Kitchen:
The large traditionally styled kitchen has all the modern conveniences you will need including a dishwasher and small appliances. Alongside an AGA there is an oven and two-ring hob and a very large fridge so you can prepare meals for the whole group. If you'd like a taste of luxury you could hire a private chef for the evening. Seating five there is a central breakfast bar and doors open out to the garden so you can easily take your morning coffee outside.

Dining Room:
The dining room sits at the back of the house and is light and airy. The table seats 12 so celebratory meals can be served together, and any additional younger guests can be seated together in the kitchen. There is an unexpected glass covered well in the corner of the room which is a curious feature bound to catch the eye.

Cloakroom:
A ground floor WC just off the dining room is a handy addition to the property.

Utility, Boot Room and Cloakroom:
If you are coming home from a walk with the dogs, the utility entrance is very useful. Wash off muddy paws in the large sink and store coats and boots here. There is also a second WC at the end of the room.

Snug:
This atmospheric room is a true 'snug' which envelops you in its rich red walls. There is a three-seater sofa (can be arranged as a sofa bed) and armchair and a large inglenook fireplace (the fire here is not in use). For anybody that needs some quiet you can separate yourself from the group and read a book or watch the football in peace.

Orangery:
The spectacular orangery is the cherry on the cake of Milestone. With a large skylight this spacious room is full of light, and it is a spectacular place to gather together. A large U-shaped sofa makes conversation easy and any musical guests can provide the soundtrack to the evening. There is a projector and surround sound system so you can watch the latest block buster in cinema quality.

First Floor

Bedroom One:
The master bedroom has an elegant king-size four poster. This contemporary room has views across the gardens to the countryside beyond and is a place for quiet reflection. The window seat is a great place to sit and enjoy the views. With a lot of storage space you can fully unpack and feel at home for your stay. An additional single bed can be made available in this room.

En-suite:
With an en-suite within the room, there is a large rainfall shower for a luxurious spa experience. There is also a WC and sink.

Bedroom Two:
Here you find a super king-size bed which can be arranged as twin beds on request. It is a regal room with olive green walls and deep red curtains. A benefit of Milestone is that all bedrooms overlook the garden, a delightful view to wake up to in the morning. An additional single bed can be made available in this room.

En-suite:
The en-suite has a shower, WC and sink.

Bedroom Three:
This third bedroom has a double bed and while it is a more compact room it is full of character. The soft purple walls and houseplants bring the outdoors in and the familiar garden views make this a charming space.

Bedroom Four:
The final bedroom in the main house is a twin room which can be a super king-size on request. With a wooden floor accented with rugs it is a warming room where you are sure of a deep night's sleep. There is a comfortable armchair where you can sit and read while waiting for the rest of your group to be ready for the day.

Bathroom:
The family bathroom has a double ended bath, a luxurious way to end the day surrounded by bubbles. A skylight brightens the room with natural light and there is a WC and sink.

The Annexe

Ground Floor

Sauna Room:
Milestone is a place to retreat to, and the infra-red sauna provides an extra level of relaxation. Unwind after a day of walking before joining your group back in the main house. An additional single bed can be made available in this room.

Shower Room:
Shared between the two bedrooms, the wet room has a rainfall shower, WC and sink.

First Floor

Bedroom Five:
Sitting under the eaves, this king-size double bedroom is perfect for anybody who wants a bit more privacy. Away from the main house you can embrace the quiet. The double bed can only be accessed from one side.

Bedroom Six:
The final bedroom at Milestone is a twin room. This makes the annexe an ideal setup for any families within your group as this room would be great for children to share. Set under lower beams you'll need to mind your heads in the morning.

Outside

The gardens at Milestone are a joy to discover. There is a main lawned area where children and pets can play and there is a collection of planted beds and a dining area. The steam trains pass by and there are wonderful surrounding views. There is parking for 5 cars on the gated driveway.
