This wonderful home offers everything one could possibly need with the most amazing view of het Gravensteen medieval castle right across the street. Located in the center of town. Lots of shops, restaurants, places of interest nearby. Located on a walking/biking only street. The host is very kind and ready to come help out.

Interesting
The listing said it all. Convenient to main areas of interest.
We stayed for 2 nights in September. The house is stunning, it is right opposite the Gravensteen castle in a central historic area of Ghent. We got the tram from the train station which stops around the corner, approx half hour journey. Check in was easy by number coded entry. The house has impressive historic features and feels grand. It has a large, well equipped kitchen on the ground floor, large comfortable lounge area on the middle floor, an open access mezzanine shower room and a large attic comfortable bedroom accessed via steep steps (almost a ladder). All rooms overlook the castle. There are lots of lovely bars and restaurants a short walk away. A perfect property for a visit to Ghent and highly recommended.
This place looks just as pictured. It's on three levels, and in a very good location for visiting Ghent. The internet worked well. Also, we learned that Lydia is very dedicated to her guests-- more perhaps than most hosts. She is conscientious, and super quick to respond and make amends when something goes awry. I would just add a note that the front door is beautiful, old and drafty. As a result the kitchen and dining area are quite chilly. But maybe that would be good for summer? Overall, a really lovely place and excellent gas stove if you want to cook.

excellent location
We enjoyed our stay in Ghent very much. This apartment is in a great location and is well-appointed with everything you need. The hosts were very responsive throughout our stay. Our only precaution is that the bedroom is on the top floor, there is no bathroom up there and you have to climb ladder-like stairs to get there. This could be an issue for some.

Nice place, great town ...
We recently spent a few nights in Ghent and did not regret our choice of apartments. This place had everything you would need for a comfortable stay and a helpful host besides. You do need to be able to climb a steep (but short) set of stairs to get to the bedroom and that might limit access for some. Although there is a sleeping area on the second level, it is small and does not offer any privacy. The kitchen is well equipped and we used it each day for breakfasts and dinners. Ghent has a lot to offer: a beautiful medieval center, museums, great restaurants, easy access to Brugge, Brussels, and WWI sites around Ypres. Communication with Lydia was excellent. Every inquiry was answered promptly and, because we arrived the day of a national holiday with lots of stores closed, Lydia even offered to shop for staples for us and bring them by the apartment. We would not hesitate to stay again.

Wonderful house in brillant location
We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely house very much. Located very conveniantly in the old town of Ghent, this house offers everything we had wished for. The interior combines traditonal furniture with the conveniance of modern appliances and although being very close to all the bars and restaurant, inside it was quiet and peaceful. Ghent is a lovely old town - definitely worth a visit. Thank you, Lydia and Hendrik, you made it very easy for us to have a very relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

Unforgettable Ghent
When my husband and I travel we always look for unquie accomodation to help make our holiday more memorable. Why stay in a hotel when you have the choice of staying in a gem like this beautiful 17 th century townhouse. The location is perfect, easy walking distance to everything in Ghent. And with the Gravensteen castle just finger tips away from the front door, WOW! I loved looking out of the third floor bedroom window at night and gazing at the castle lite up in all her glory. The townhouse it's self is well appointed with everything you need to enjoy your stay. The bed is very comfortable however a word of caution, the bedroom is reached via very steep stairs, almost ladder like, so if you have physical difficulties this unfortunately may not be the townhouse for you. The bathroom is modern with plenty of hot water. The lounge room is sunny and very comfortable with large windows, once again looking out onto the castle. The kitchen is modern with everything you need for an easy stay.
Lydia, the host, is very accomodating and replies to all emails promptly.
If you choose to make this townhouse your home while you adventure in Ghent you most defiantly won't be disappointed .
P.s if you looking for a cafe with great food and great service try the T'Postje on the Kornmarkt

Great location in the city
We enjoyed our stay at the apartment. It is a great location that is close to everything and the view overlooking the castle is a wonderful bonus. It is a good set-up for a couple and everything that you need is provided. I would not though recommend this apartment for people with any physical issues as the stairs going to the loft bedroom are basically a ladder going. Fun and charming with a great location.

We are so happy that you had a good time in our medieval little house!
The location and view IS STUNNING and everything is so close in the center of Ghent.
We do agree that it is very difficult if not impossible for disabled people to get to the highest floor..
