A comfortable, pleasantly decorated house in the gorgeous wilds of Connemara

This lovely house was a cosy and comfortable home base for exploring the backroads and wild spots of Connemara! It sleeps six comfortably, with plenty of wardrobe and dresser storage for everyone. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, but there was no chopping knife (only a serrated bread knife), and we were only given one kitchen hand towel and a sponge - and no potholders or oven gloves! - so we had to use a bathroom hand towel to take things out of the oven, and we bought a dish cloth and a cheap chopping knife at the Aldi in Clifden. The lighting over the kitchen table was a harsh, cold, too-bright fluorescent white. Nicer lighting for evening meals would have been appreciated since some of us are sensitive to bad lighting. Other than this, and the lack of a few basic kitchen supplies, we felt entirely at home and comfy in this authentic Irish cottage!

The property is in a beautiful location with magnificent views. It did not disappoint. The rooms were spacious and the beds were extremely comfortable. The living room was cosy. Some things you might expect were not in the property such as some basic kitchen equipment and a hairdryer - so we had to purchase these. The bathrooms could have been cleaner.

Das Haus macht insgesamt einen sauberen und gepflegten Eindruck, obwohl die Einrichtung teilweise schon recht alt ist. Aber Bettwäsche und Handtücher waren ganz frisch. Kühl- und Gefrierschrank sowie Geschirrspüler funktionieren, sind aber auch schon sehr abgenutzt. Vereinzelt gab es ein paar Spinnweben und einer der Toilettensitze war nicht benutzbar, da die Halterung abgebrochen war.
