Thank you so much for the review! I would love for you to send a text of what items or amenities we could improve to earn a 5 star review from you or future guests. We are always looking to improve our little space on Rushford lake. We hope to host you and your family again.
Beautiful location. Convenience of having a kitchen with everything we needed. Fire pit by the lake with chairs was wonderful. Gazebo with table and chairs conveniently located. The whole property was perfect.

Great place for a weekend away. Cottage was clean and well stocked with things you might take for granted. No doors on the bedrooms so keep this in mind if you are looking for privacy. Lake was beautiful. No problems with the neighbors!

Thank you for your review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay!
Figuring out solid doors (instead of thick curtains) for those odd sized doorways is on our to-do list!!! Hopefully a spring update 🌞🌞
We look forward to host your family again!
It was very nice. Good location on the lake. GREAT dock and deck. It is dificult to share a driveway. And to have a limit on cars. We had a nice time. Peolple parked at the boat launch and we ferried over to get them. Lots of things to use such as paddle boat, kayaks, grill.

Hi Bonnie, Thank you for your review. I'm sorry parking was an issue for you. We limit the cars to 3 not because of the shared driveway, but because we have a "no party" rule. I understand you had a gathering for the holiday which we talked about beforehand, most people just have guest park on the street. I'm sorry I didn't think to share that with you.
Sounds like other than that you enjoyed the cottage and all it offers. We look forward to hosting you again!
The owners obviously take a lot of pride in their lake cottage. The grounds were pristine with great spots for hanging out and watching the water.
Cottage was very clean and kitchen was perfectly equipped.
We had a small maintenance issue and the owner came and fixed same day. Great property and awesome hosts. Thanks!!

Thank you for the kind words and review! We hope to host your family again.
This was our first time using VRBO and renting a cottage on a lake. The cozy cottage was just perfect for our family of 6 adults. The host was very responsive and the cottage was just as described. Kitchen was well stocked and rest of the house was small but well-appointed. The outdoor space perfect for watching sunsets, resting in the hammock or hanging out by the firepit. And Rushford lake is a hidden gem! We will definitely be back next year!
We have just completed a four night stay at this charming cottage. It had everything we needed to have a comfortable stay right on the lake! We were in the area visiting family and while we were there we learned so much about the area and family history. We truly felt a connection with the area and staying at this cottage helped to make the trip pure magic. The host was so helpful and communicated frequently. We will be coming back to the area quite often in the future and we would be very happy to stay here again.

Kenneth, Thank you for your review and kind words. We love to hear how much you enjoyed the cottage, the lake, and that family connection, very cool. We look forward to seeing you again!
Property location to lake was great & lake very clean & nice. Only shower in house was way too small but we managed. Outside stairs near house wobbly, narrow & slippery when wet. Enjoyed use of kayaks & use of life vests due to lake depth!

Jane, Thank you for the kind review. The natural stone steps can get slippery, but what we love most about the cottage is the authentic landscape. We hope to host you again soon!
We just enjoyed a fabulous week at Rushford Lake with some of my adult children and grandchildren. Our cottage was perfect! There was easy access to the lake for swimming and kayaking. It was kid friendly with a sandbox, toys, books and games. The kitchen was tiny but it worked. There was plenty of seating for dining at the huge table with a beautiful view of the lake and outside under the little pavillion. We enjoyed campfires around the firepit. We had a relaxing and very enjoyable time. The owner was very easy to work with and the neighborhood was pretty quiet. I would definitely recommend staying here!!

Very comfortable
The property was nice, comfortable. Definitely a better fit for older group or a group with young children just going to relax. Neighbor you share driveway with was rude, they let the dog come over and poop on the lawn and we had to clean it up. Other neighbor was friendly. Plenty of stuff for children and kitchen supplies. Owner was easy to talk to, just a lot of specific rules to follow.

Hi Steph, I'm so sorry about the neighbors dog. I did send them a message. Is your 3 star review on the property or because of the neighbors? If there was an issue with the house or the property itself I would love to address it. Hope to see you next season!
The cottage at Rushford Lake was a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy the peacefulness. Had fun in paddle boat & floating on noodles in the clean lake. Cottage was clean & had all you needed for your stay. Outdoor space was great with covered patio & lots of trees for shade. The best part was fire pit & beautiful view of Lake.

Carol, Thank you for your review! We are happy you enjoyed your stay and look forward to hosting you again.
We enjoyed our stay in this Rushford Lake house. It was very comfortable for our family of 5. The lake water was clean and my children enjoyed swimming, paddle boating, and kayaking. We had plenty to do on the days we didn’t travel to the amazing state parks in the area, including games, toys, books, movies, a hammock, and yard games. The house would comfortably sleep 10 people, although the small bathroom and shower would have a difficult time accommodating a group that large. Our vacation was relaxing and enjoyable!

Just as advertised. Toni did a great job keeping in touch with me on status and updates. Sometimes that is very important as I personally was not there but need to make sure our guys had a great place to go to after a hard days work
This cottage really was perfect for our family. Right on the lake, yet plenty of green space for the kids to run around. Lots of little nice touches that really help out. And the central air is a huge plus! But best of all, the owners are super nice and very quick to respond to any of our communications! We will definitely stay here again!

Property was as described. It is in a great location on the lake. The house was able to handle 9 adults for the week. The weather was great for the majority of the week, and the views from the outside dining table were just superb each evening. A very enjoyable stay!
The lake was great and the house had everything we needed. They have a lot more than listed so no need to over pack! We had a great time!

Great time. Location for fire works awesome.
Location great. Neighbor with shared driveway very friendly. Awesome neighbors. Other neighbor not so much. Cottage wasn’t cleaned very well before we got there. We left it better than we found it. Outside lights don’t all work and grass was not mowed. These things did not stop us from having a great time. Thank you for renting it to us.
The location of the lake house is absolutely stunning and the property is ideal for several activities like canoeing, fishing, grilling etc. However, the house itself does not stand up to the mark. For a group of people bigger than 4, the restroom and kitchen are too small. The rooms don't have doors and entrances are covered by curtains. The kitchen appliances were not great and even the coffee machine didn't work.
Above mentioned problems could have been a temporary situation for the house and if rectified could potentially be one of the best places to spend a summer vacation.

Thank you for your review, we are so glad you enjoyed our little slice of the lake. I'm sorry to hear about the coffee maker. No one had mentioned it before your visit or after and we were just down and used the same coffee maker. I'm not sure what was going on during your stay with it but its working now! We look forward to hosting you again!
About the host

From the Rochester NY area we found Rushford Lake when our oldest attended the NYS DEC camp at the lake. We instantly fell in love with the small community and the beauty of the lake. We waited 10 years to find our cottage and because we can't spend every day there we share it with families to enjoy the area.
What makes this property unique
We have an amazing 100 feet of waterfront. A brand new dock and boat house in 2024 that lets you sit 32feet out in the lake with stunning views in both directions.
