This is a great property in a great little village. Everything was as described in the listing. I rated it four stars instead of five for a couple reasons. One, I knew it would not have air conditioning, but I did not understand just how much that would affect my family’s ability to be comfortable in the August Andalusian heat. The plunge pool was a savior for cooling down our core temperatures, but sleep was challenging for us since the nights didn’t cool down much while we were there (day temps were in the 90s F and only dropped to upper 70s F during our stay). But please take into account, we are Americans from a temperate climate who live with air conditioning. The second reason for my rating is the town’s water system. I don’t know if this is year round or just in the summer, but to save water the town would turn the water off at 10pm and back on at 7am. The home offers a 500L cistern of water to get you through that time. This mostly affected us as a family of 6 because we had to make sure to have all of our showers completed before 10pm, so before dinner, and for early morning wake-ups we tried to wait until 7am to shower. Finally, the kitchen is a great space, it just lacked in cooking utensils and cutting boards, which made it a little more challenging to cook for a group of six. There are plenty of great restaurants in town though, so you really only have to cook on Mondays; even then you can drive to Las Ventas!
