Airplane Hangar Turned Lofts! Featured twice on HGTV Walk to USC Stadium!!
If you have a passion for design, albeit: Modern. Minimalistic. Mid-Century or Mies (as in Van der Rohe), then come and explore architecture with us while you make your initial decent into a world of industrial wonderment at The Hangar Lofts Hotel. Formerly airplane hangars servicing Columbia’s Downtown Airport, now enigmatic upscale lofts notably featured on HGTV and located a mere runway from Columbia’s emerging City Center.
Making the Runway
Each Hangar has its own sophisticated approach to style, delivering a high ceiling atmosphere that lands you soundly on the welcomed side of the threshold. The attitude of each space spans the design spectrum streaming from the likes of Le Corbusier, Joseph Eichler, Herman Miller, Louis Poulsen to Mies.
After rinsing off your travels in our spa-inspired custom showers, you’ll experience 5-Star landings on our Tuft and Needle Mattresses afloat locally crafted platform beds, lavished with enough gooses and thread-count to send you off soundly on your journey counting sheep. Wheels up in the morning with a smattering of energy bars, juice and fresh fruit. Bon viaje!
Landing gear locked, flaps down then a short taxi across the tarmac lands you in one of our seven 1,200 square foot Hangar Lofts for an evening to embrace. Our lofts have all the dials and gauges you’d expect in an emerging urban landscape ranging from exposed brick walls, structural steel beams, concrete floors and countertops to oversized commercial-styled glass windows for private patio spectating. The Baltic-birch custom cabinetry frames the modern kitchen, containing the soft-spoken beauty of stainless Bosch appliances. The 17-foot tall ceilings are accented with exposed aluminum spiral ductwork hung as a backdrop to a ceiling made of clear-finished tongue & groove boards. These lofts also contain loads of intimate lighting tailored for your perfect evening
From our open layout and our exquisite décor to our designer kitchens, put the Hangar Lofts on your flight plan and book a reservation today!

Overall a good place to stay.
Very Clean..
Convenient to the Carolina Games..
but a little further in some questionable areas that i originally thought.
A few more details like more towels, a toaster, a few more dishes, all working lights, etc.
might make for an Excellent Stay
versus a Good Stay. :)
Every year around this time. You can barely find a place to stay for SCSU’s homecoming and if you do it might not be to your liking. To say this property was a available at the last night was great! It’s so beautiful inside and a quiet area to stay in. The online pictures don’t do it justice.
I love design. Mid-Century, Modern, Minimalistic and Mies (as in van der Rohe). This loft is an extension of my interest in architecture and design. A stock broker turned real-estate developer, I found my passion and calling in repurposing old warehouses into chic, living quarters. I plan to convert more of my inventory of these exciting lofts into overnight spaces so that more travelers can experience the lifestyle that I've enjoyed creating. We hope that you'll come to experience our vision for design.
