Open floor plan common room contains large dining table with four chairs, sofabed with built in storage, coffee table, desk with rolling drawers plus Herman Miller Aeron office chair. Bedroom contains bed, end tables and chest of drawers. Lots of storage with 3 closets and built in chest of drawers in one closet. Bathroom finished with Heath Ceramics tile. Private outdoor patio with small garden (landscaping is still being finished).

Piedmont is a safe 1.8 square mile separate town adjacent to Oakland that has its own facilities (highly ranked schools, police, fire) that is readily accessible to public transportation including casual carpool to SF, BART stations and AC Transit express bus to SF. It is also very close to the shopping districts in Oakland such as Uptown, the Grand Lake area, Piedmont Ave, College Ave and Montclair.

Lovely new apartment in beautiful neighborhood

I spent six weeks in the apartment and found Steve and Maya to be attentive, gracious, and overall fantastic hosts. They were readily available to answer questions and fix problems (very few), as I encountered them. The place is beautiful, as the photos show and being a longer term renter, I found the high end new washer/dryer to to be a much appreciated added bonus. The neighborhood is centrally located and just a few minutes drive to the Lakeshore, Montclair, and Piedmont area shopping districts. It’s also a neighborhood with wide streets and sidewalks, which make it ideal for walking and running. With that said, I do have one suggestion for Steven and Maya. The noise transfer from up above was quite loud and the place would benefit considerably from sound proofing. Although I rarely heard voices, I could here almost every footstep above me. If they were to take care of this one issue, the place would be perfect!

What makes this property unique

We found Piedmont to be a great community in the heart of Oakland. Great access to restaurants, shops and SF. Great public transportation to get around the Bay Area and SF with bus stops, BART stations and casual carpool all nearby. Great schools plus very responsive public services like police and fire.
