Beautiful villa

We loved our stay in this beautiful villa. The gardens and pool in particular are lovely. Lily was a fantastic hostess - extremely helpful and welcoming. The location of the villa is also great; a short walk to the local tavernas and shops.

Excellent villa, peaceful location, beautiful garden

Such a lovely week and lots to do if you can drag yourself away from the beautiful garden. The Cretan sea is the most amazing deep blue, perfect for swimming. Lily is a perfect host, thank you Lily for the lovely Greek cooking!

A lovely comfortable cottage

We have just returned from a super weeks holiday 24/4/17 -01/5/17 at Lilly's Cottage. This a really lovely cottage with everything you require . The beds were very comfortable and the inside was to a very high standard. The garden was lovely with lots of flowers and plenty of shady places to sit .The swimming pool was good although we did not use it as the water was too cold in April

Dear David and Irene, thank you very much for your 5* review and your nice words for the cottage. This cottage is made by love and it has my soul since I lived there all the weekends of my childhood. I strongly believe that all my guests receive its positive energy.. The truth is that it was too cold for swimming in the pool.. This is a good reason for you to visit us again in another month (June maybe) when you will use the pool! Looking forward to seeing you in the future My warmest regards Lily

A Great Get Away!!!

Lily's cottage was just what we needed for a relaxing getaway week prior to a tour of the middle east. The cottage is lovingly appointed with art, furnishings, marble tile floors and area carpets. It's just off the beaten path so it's quiet at night but with water views and still close enough to easily get to Rhethymno for nice restaurants and shopping. Lily's welcome casserole in the oven and later in the week made us feel right at home. We loved it!

Beautiful, perfect and relaxing

Lilly was the perfect host: friendly, welcoming and regularly bringing tasty homemade treats such as cakes and moussaka. The house is small but perfectly formed with every detail taken care of. Comfortable beds, air con, shutters, multiple outdoor seating areas, views of the sea, olive trees, comfortable lounge with views, satellite tv. We had a wonderful stay, very relaxing. Privacy is great and a reasonable walk to hubub and the beach. Strongly recommend Fantastiko taverna at the top of the hill for astonishing sunset views and great food.

Dear Joe and Clare, thank you very much for the 5 star review! I have tried really hard to make the house comfortable for my guests. But I strongly believe that a nice-decorated, comfortable house is not enough.. What is at a great importance is hospitality, friendliness and a really big smile.. These are what I'm trying to offer to my guests .....

Amazing & Relaxing stay in a perfect HomeAway

This cottage offers everything you might need for a perfect and relaxing holiday. It is situated up on a hill and provides high privacy but at the same time it is not far away from the tourist area. The sea view is amazing and the pool has the perfect size. Everything is very clean and you can feel that it has been built with love. The hospitality of Lily is great - she always offers her help, gives useful information about the surroundings and even brings over some typical Greec dishes. Thanks for all - we will come back!!!

The house was really awesome

The house was nice and clean, the garden was hughe with plenty of space to relax and the highlight of the property was the pool, which always was held at a constant, cooling Temperature and was clean. With the house also came a young cat that was pretty friendly. Lily’s advices are great and always recommendable. Our stay was a great pleasure and Lily one of the nicest persons we ever met.

Great time had

We found the Villa to be immaculate and looking as great as on the internet pictures. Lily could not have been more reliable and helpful, even procuring the special rice products we needed. The weather in the first two weeks of October was ideal for us,being warm enough to use the pool, but not too hot for exploring and walking. It all made for a really enjoyable first time holiday in Crete

Relaxing holiday

This was our second time in Lily's cottage and we were glad to have come back. The cottage was as beautiful and as clean as our first time. The pool is extremely pleasant for adults as well for kids. Lily takes special care of her guests and their needs . She is an extraordinary host. We felt that we were on holidays at freinds instead of a Holiday rental. If you are planning a holiday in this part of Crete,, we highly recommend Lily's cottage.

Wonderful cottage with nicest host

We spent ten wonderful days in Lily's cottage in October with our two children. The cottage is very cozy, clean and perfect equiped. As well as the pool and the garden. Its located perfectly only 10 minutes from Rethymno and not far to other sightseeing locations. And Lily is the best host I ever met, also her cheese pie and moussaka are very delicious!!:-) She was always available, when we needed an advice or recommendation and our communication was very easy:-)

We rented this cottage for 4 days. We had an excellent experience. The cottage is well equipped and well maintained. Very nice decor. Comfortable bedrooms. Beautiful outdoor sitting areas. Nice swimming pool. Good wifi and television. Situated on a hill with a view of the sea. Owner is wonderful and helpful. I would definitely rent this property again and recommend to friends.

Wonderful place - very highly recommended!

A beautiful villa in a tranquil location with gorgeous views but still close to all the facilities of Rethymno - we loved it. We were apprehensive about booking a place with no reviews but had no reason to worry. Lily (the owner) was extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive. Property was exactly as listed, very comfortable and tastefully decorated in a traditional Greek style with a modern twist. One of the best features is the lovely private garden and swimming pool. We didn't get the chance to use the pool because of the cool March weather, but plan to fix that by going back in the summer.

Awesome Property with Exceptional Host

Our stay at Lily’s was amazing! The house is so well cared for, with all the comforts of home. Lily is an exceptional host. Not only did we greatly appreciate being welcomed with home baking and other thoughtful touches, but many other little details were included: comfortable beds, amazing sheets, local fruit and cheeses provided. Needless to say, we loved our time at Lily’s and would highly recommend her cottage. We have rented many places over the years, and we have never met a host as gracious and welcoming as Lily. Thank you so much for everything!

A beautiful property in a delightful setting.

This is a delightful property in lovely surroundings with a view of the sea in the distance. The pictures don't do justice to just how lovely it is there. Lily was fabulous and couldn't do enough for us. On arrival there was a lovely spinach pie, some pastries and a cake and a bottle of wine. There was also food in the fridge. A couple of days later she texted to say she was bringing us a moussaka-which was fab. There was a lovely Taverna just down the road where we ate nearly every night-the food was delicious and reasonably priced. My husband and I had a wonderful holiday and will definitely be staying there again.

Pleasant surprise!

We stayed at the cottage for 4 nights at the end of May. The house is brand new and well constructed. The furniture is tasteful and looks expensive. The garden is really nice with many different sitting areas and the pool is all one needs to relax and enjoy a swim. We found really important the fact that although the cottage is a very short drive to the beach, it is extremely quiet since the small road that leads to it continues to a dead end. We loved the view, we could see all the north coast of Rethymnon area. The owner was very hospitable and kept asking us if there is anything we needed. We had a great time, we were pleasantly surprised by the whole set up, quality and hospitality. We will definitely visit again!

In the immortal lyrics by ……..

…. Tina Turner Lily’s Cottage is “ Simply The Best” !! We absolutely loved everything about the cottage, the facilities, the location and the attentive but unobtrusive help and care from the best host in Crete- the lovely Lily! We just didn’t want to leave after our 16 nights and, yes, we will return. Rethymno is only 20 minutes by car and is a classy town with nice shops and some really good fine dining restaurants. Ask Lily she knows all the best places. Having said that the Cottage is well equipped for self catering and we enjoyed many meals in the attractive and tranquil garden with its fabulous sea view.

Luxury and Calm in Crete!

Amazing Villa tucked away in an Olive Grove. One of the highlights of our trip was staying in Lily's Cottage. Lily was an amazing host. She greeted us with stocked refrigerator and a homemade Spinach pie! We felt like VIPs. She goes above and beyond to make your holiday special. In addition the Villa was so comfortable. All the modern amenities, along with beautiful decor. High end bedding and mattresses, beautiful furnishings. The garden was like a secret hideaway from all the hustle and bustle of the main town, which was only a short drive away. Truly a special place! We traveled with our 4year old son, and he loved eveything as well! We will be back!

Lovely villa and gardens

We have just arrived home from a fabulous two week stay at Lily's cottage. The villa was lovely and clean and had everything you could want. Our 5 year in particular loved the pool and when he wasn't in there he was either in the garden playing football or chilling out inside watching the Disney channel!! There are a couple of nice tavernas just a short walk and we managed this easily even with the pushchair (with our 10 month old) back up the drive. Nothing seemed too much for Lily she truly took care of us spoiling us with all the treats and her Mousaka and the Dakos we had was the best in our two week stay. We had a lovely holiday and if we came back to Crete we would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much Lily.

Stunning cottage in a tranquil location

Our autumn getaway was reserving a wonderful surprise. We experienced the wonderful little world of Lily’s cottage, a breathe taking, cozy farmhouse in an olive grove with a magnificent view to the sea. It is a little gem in a tranquil location, further enough away from the hustle and bustle of the town but close enough to enjoy it. The cottage even in November is amazing. Maybe you can’t enjoy the nice pool but you enjoy for sure the fireplace instead. Personally I found it more romantic. Lily, the host, is a wonderful person herself. She went above and beyond to make sure we had a lovely holiday. We highly recommend Lily’s cottage even this season. We will back soon

Luxurious cottage in a peaceful area near Rethymno

This cottage is a great example of what happens when the Cretan nature meets comfort and luxury... and this is exactly what we were looking for when decided to visit Rethymno in Crete. The location of the property is ideal, only 10 minutes from Rethymno, one of the most charming towns in Crete. Despite its proximity to the town, we loved the fact that it is in a very peaceful location. The sea view is breathtaking. The big yard is very well maintained by the owner, Lily. We were particularly impressed by her personal choices in the decoration of the cottage... attention to detail in everything. The super comfortable mattresses as well as the soft and luxurious bedsheets really made a difference! We left the place with the best memories and promised ourselves that we will go back one day soon!

Wonderfully relaxing holiday

Thank you Lily for a wonderful stay. You work so hard to make your guests feel welcomed and looked after. Your cooking is fabulous and we looked forward to your next home cooked meal which we enjoyed with a local salad for lunch. The villa is spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The air con was most welcome during our stay. There are many excellent taverns, with Pagonas just down the road being the best. The tavernas in the hills behind the villa were fantastic (Fantastiko and Thvma being our recommendations...no mossies and wonderful sunset views). Have a car to make the most of visiting the Arkardi monestary, Margarites village for pottery and local beaches the other side of Rethymno. There are very good supermarkets locally (we avoided Lidl after 2 visits) and a wonderful bakery opposite the BP petrol station. If you are looking for a private holiday location, in a well equipped and spotlessly clean villa with a private pool then this one is hard to beat.
