About this property

Characterful Brighton Townhouse, One Minute from the Beach

Welcome to my little Brighton house with soul — a characterful four-storey townhouse offering something far more personal than a generic holiday rental.

Tucked away in Brighton’s Regency conservation area, the house is only a minute’s walk from the beach. The i360 is around seven minutes away, Churchill Square ten minutes, and the Lanes approximately fifteen minutes on foot. Western Road’s independent cafés, restaurants and shops are just around the corner.

Inside, the house is compact but cleverly arranged across four floors. Downstairs is a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, with a table seating four. The cosy ground-floor sitting room is made for relaxing, with a wood burner, television, books, music and albums of vintage Brighton postcards.

On the first floor you’ll find the contemporary bathroom and a small, practical second bedroom. The light and spacious main bedroom occupies the top floor, with generous storage, its own television and a glimpse towards the sea and rooftops.

Outside, the private little patio is a lovely spot for morning coffee or an evening drink, becoming especially atmospheric when the Tree of Life lights come on after dark.

The house has been created with care and personality, and I hope guests feel genuinely at home here. Dogs are very welcome too.

Please note that this is a historic four-storey townhouse with several flights of stairs, so it may not suit guests with limited mobility.

Great location with excellent host

The house was very clean and nicely decorated with nice touches such as outdoor fairy lights on the courtyard and tea and coffee facilities in bedrooms. Pete was very helpful, answering our queries on where was best to park and using his local knowledge to recommend places to go including a lovely brunch spot.

Beautiful little townhouse

We loved it here! The location was outstanding-walking distance to everything & a safe neighborhood. The townhouse was adorable-we felt like we were in a dollhouse. Peter is fabulous- so helpful and knowledgeable. It was like we had a private tour guide at our fingertips. We would recommend staying here!

My dog and I had a good time and the house was really nice. We were there in January and it was very cold, so it was nice to have a warm place so close to everything (though the kitchen can be still be cold!). Overall, it was a great time and my picky dog felt at home immediately! I think he’s sad we’re back at our actual home! Thank you, Pete, for all the notes about Brighton & Hove as it felt really welcoming.

Thank you for staying and I said your little dog felt at home. Apologies if the kitchen was cold; I should have pointed out the litter heater there. You are most welcome to return though; and as I said; all repeat guests get a ten percent discount too.

I have lived in Brighton and Hove for more than 20 years and have around 15 years’ experience welcoming guests. I love sharing the places that make the city special — from favourite cafés and characterful pubs to local walks, music and hidden corners that visitors might otherwise miss.

I want guests to feel at home rather than simply handed a key. I’m always happy to offer personal recommendations, help with plans or even give a little tour when time allows. Many guests return, which is the greatest compliment I could receive.

Why they chose this property

I have lived in Brighton and Hove for more than 20 years and still love its mix of seaside energy, beautiful Regency architecture and independent spirit. The house sits perfectly between the two, just a minute from the beach and around the corner from Western Road’s cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops. Most of central Brighton can be explored on foot, yet the immediate neighbourhood retains a friendly, lived-in atmosphere. It offers the best of Brighton without feeling like the middle of a tourist district.

What makes this property unique

This is a genuine little house with soul, created as a home rather than a generic holiday rental. Its four floors give every level a different character, from the cosy sitting room and well-equipped basement kitchen to the bright top-floor bedroom and private patio with its Tree of Life lights.

Personal touches include books, a 1980s music quiz, a wood burner and albums of 120-year-old Brighton postcards. The house is compact, quirky and full of character — a place where guests can settle in, feel at home and experience Brighton like a local. Dogs are warmly welcomed too.
