Nonnanina is one of the most beautiful of the typical white houses with red roofs in the ancient Dirupo district of Pisticci, the quintessential area of the “White City,” rich in tradition and immense beauty, beautifully captured in the photographs of Luchino Visconti. Pisticci, listed among Italy’s 100 wonders to be preserved, is nestled in the tranquility of the majestic Lucanian badlands, where the lanner falcon reigns supreme, bathed in the sunlight rising over the Gulf of Taranto. The entire area, with its narrow alleys, has served as the setting for numerous music videos and major film productions, including the famous film *Christ Stopped at Eboli* starring Gian Maria Volontè and *The Passion of the Christ* starring Mel Gibson. It is one hour from the Bari airport, 40 minutes from Matera, and just a few minutes from the sandy beaches in the heart of Magna Graecia.
