You can start your day with a cup of coffee on the terrace, taking in the fresh air and birdsong, or end the evening with a barbecue as the sun sets. The surrounding nature is stunning, and you are not far from Lake Fryken, where you can swim or go fishing. Please note that a fishing permit is required if you wish to fish on the lake. Several attractions are within easy reach. A 40-minute drive takes you to Mårbacka, the beautiful home of Selma Lagerlöf, where you can learn more about her life and literary work. Not far from there, you will find Rottneros Park, an impressive sculpture and flower park inspired by Gösta Berling’s Saga. For those traveling with children, or anyone who enjoys excitement and fun, Sunne Water Park is a popular destination with water slides and pools. The cottage is within walking distance of the Bäckebron railway station, making it easy to travel to the cottage for those traveling by train. In winter, you can go skiing at Ski Sunne, while Hovfjället Nature Reserve offers scenic hiking trails and cross-country skiing tracks in an untouched mountain landscape. For a unique skiing experience, Torsby Ski Tunnel provides indoor cross-country skiing all year round.
