Welcome to the Historic Maple Street Dairy, a beautifully restored 1850’s Vermont farmhouse in the heart of Stowe Village. Leave your car behind and stroll to cafés, restaurants, independent shops, galleries, the Stowe Recreation Path, and village events, then return to a home that blends nearly two centuries of history with thoughtfully updated comfort. Whether you're visiting for skiing, hiking, fall foliage, or a relaxing getaway, you'll enjoy one of Stowe's most sought-after locations.

Originally built in 1855, the farmhouse was part of the historic Maple Street Dairy—the first dairy in Stowe. Original wide-plank floors, a graceful winding staircase, and historic architectural details have been lovingly preserved, while tasteful furnishings and carefully curated décor create the warm, inviting atmosphere of an authentic Vermont farmhouse.

The home comfortably accommodates six guests in three upstairs bedrooms. Two separate living areas provide plenty of room for families and friends to gather together or enjoy a little quiet time after a day of adventure. Start your morning with coffee in the cozy breakfast nook, share meals around the farmhouse table, curl up with a favorite book, or spend the evening enjoying movies, board games, and conversation.

Stowe Mountain Resort is just a 12-minute drive away, and during ski season the Mountain Road shuttle stops only a short walk from the house, making it easy to enjoy Vermont's premier skiing without worrying about parking.

We know many guests consider their dog part of the family. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and additional dogs may be considered with advance approval. Just steps away you'll find wonderful places to explore together, including Stowe's Recreation Path and the nearby Quiet Path.

Cosy Cottage

Quaint and cosy cottage a very short walk to the main street in Stowe. Our multi-generational family group had a wonderful stay at this cottage for a week of skiing. The location is fabulous and the house is pretty as a picture. Stacks of original details and the cottage is styled well. Loads of extra linens, towels and thoughtful comforting touches throughout the house. The only negative was the fridge and freezer wasn't working during our stay and given it was a holiday weekend the owners couldn't organize a replacement - however they did what they could and shouted us a meal at a local diner as compensation (thanks!). Karen was a very attentive owner and available to assist whenever we had a question. Some kitchen items were a little tired (pots, glasses etc) so if you are culinary focused bring your favorite utensils along and if you have a large group you may need to bring some extra forks/spoons etc. All in all a wonderful stay!

Amazing Stowe Vacation Hourse

The "Maple Street Dairy" house is absolutely fantastic. The house is large, open, with plenty of space, and unusually, the beds and furnishings were first class. After a day of snowboarding (with the shuttle to the mountain only about a 5 minute walk), we loved that we could rest up at the house and then walk to Stowe village for restaurants and bars. We will return to this place.

Wonderful place to stay

This home is in a great location. Close to all the shops, trails and restaurants that Stowe has to offer. Easy walking to almost everything. There was a very minor mix up with keys but Karen fixed it immediately. And it gave her a chance to fill us in with the weekend events happening in Stowe. A win win! We are already planning our next girls weekend back.

Great Family Vacation in a lovely home

The Maple Street Dairy was perfect for a magical stay in Stowe. Short walk into the village for easy access to shops and restaurants. The mountain shuttle was our transportation up to the mountain for great skiing and Tap 25 in the village was our Apres Ski spot. Karen and Dan were very accommodating and quick to respond to any questions we had. Our dogs adjusted well and loved the open space area not far from the home where dogs could be off leash. The home had more than enough room for our extended family. It's a must stay and we hope to return in the future.

We live on the property in the beautifully renovated dairy barn, giving guests the perfect balance of privacy while being nearby should you need recommendations or assistance during your stay.

After meeting while studying at the London School of Economics, we eventually made Vermont our home in 2002 to raise our family. We've fallen in love with everything that makes Stowe special—from its vibrant village, scenic trails, and world-class outdoor recreation to the welcoming community that surrounds it. Now that we're empty nesters, we enjoy sharing this remarkable corner of Vermont with visitors from around the world.

Historic Maple Street Dairy has been lovingly restored to preserve its rich history while providing the comfort and warmth of a true Vermont farmhouse. We hope you'll feel at home here and create wonderful memories during your stay.
