I absolutely adored staying here. I loved the surroundings which were woods, there is a fire pit and grill and a comfy bed and I absolutely adored staying in this cabin.
I have to say that the Comfy Cabin was the cleanest VRBO I've ever stayed in...and I am a neatnik. It had everything we needed. The only drawback was the lack of a closet or dresser for our clothes, but we emptied shelves of decorative items and were able to store everything out of our suitcases. I, being someone who loves to move furniture around, have a suggestion to the owners for that. Instead to the right of the sofa, build a little chiffarobe with drawers and place there.(Just a suggestion). Thank you for making our visit to Houston, AK comfortable.

Thank you for your review. Great idea on the chiffarobe! We have never had that suggestion, maybe because most of our renters are short term. We will look into this.
Lovely location, adorable cabin. Very clean and comfortable. The only improvement I would suggest is Wifi. Otherwise, it was a great home base after enjoying this amazing state each day. Just wished I would have had 2 weeks to explore!!!!

Couldn't leave the property!
Cute, cozy little cabin that's perfect for a getaway! There was already so much to see and do right in the yard, took us a few hours before we left. They have all the basic necessities to get you through a night if you forget anything AND the owners were super friendly and helpful.
Beautiful little cabin with everything you need. Close to so many things. Use as your home base as you see numerous places in alaska. Peaceful spot for a campfire. The hosts are so nice and a pleasure to talk to about alaska. Will definitely be back.
It is a cozy cabin close to a lake. The owners live right next to the cabin and were helpful and friendly. That being said the cabin is too small for 3 adults. 2 adults and sleeping room for 2 children is OK. Kitchen only has space for 2 chairs. TV mounted but no cable connection or wifi.
This was our first visit to Alaska, and the perfect cabin for our family of 3. We were looking for a central location to stay so we could explore as much of Alaska as possible. It was everything we needed and perfectly suited for this.
And we explored. A lot. We traveled anywhere from Seward to Whittier, in and around Anchorage, Palmer and Glacier View, up to Talkeetna and Denali, and all points in between. Each night, coming back to the cabin and resting up for the next day.
The cabin itself felt like home. It provided plenty of space for us, we absolutely loved it. Our 9 year old staked his claim in the loft as soon as we arrived, and loved having his own "room".
The kitchen was well stocked with many necessary items, and lots we didn't expect, which is always a really nice surprise. We cooked several meals over the course of our 10 day stay, and always had everything we needed (utensils, dishes, pots/pans, etc.).
The bed was nice and comfy, the sofa and TV arrangement was great for those down times while it was raining or if you needed to rest for the next adventure.
The bathroom was definitely better than I expected in a cabin of this size. I'm a taller guy and while the shower isn't the biggest, it was plenty. Oh, and the hot water that was actually hot is the best thing ever after a cold, rainy hike, or a glacier cruise!
We had the pleasure of speaking with Chad and Robin a few times during our visit. Extremely helpful and nice, and they always made sure to check on us to see if we needed anything.
I tend to be overly picky about where we stay during vacations (or at least my wife says so), and the first trip to a new place is always nerve-wracking. But as soon as we drove up to the cabin, I knew we were in for a great trip. We would stay here again in a heartbeat, and hope to return as soon as possible.
Thanks again to Chad and Robin for allowing us to visit their wonderful cabin!

When my brother took a fishing trip to Alaska when I was 13 and came back with pictures, I always wanted to live here in a log home. Now, I have a log home and a log cabin. My husband and 5 children love to explore the woods, play in the lake, and raft down wild Alaskan rivers.
