Why they chose this property
RRye is a historic coastal town just outside New York City, celebrated for its classic colonial charm. Rye Beach and Oakland Beach are just 1.7 miles from the property, offering beach access, swimming pools, and lively waterfront restaurants.
This period home, built in 1925, is set in one of Rye’s most desirable neighborhoods. It’s just a 0.3-mile walk to downtown and only 0.4 miles from the Rye Metro-North station, making commuting to Manhattan both simple and efficient.
The town is steeped in history, with national landmarks such as the Boston Post Road Historic District and the Jay Estate, childhood home of John Jay, a Founding Father and the first Chief Justice of the United States. Rye is also home to Playland, a landmark Art Deco amusement park and National Historic Landmark. Playland features the iconic Dragon Coaster, one of the oldest wooden roller coasters in the Northeast, along with a beach, public pool, and seaside dining.
Rye offers outstanding summer camp options for children of all ages at the Rye YMCA, Rye Recreation, the Rye Nature Center, and The Rye Arts Center. These programs provide excellent value and a rich mix of indoor and outdoor activities—including swimming. Most are within walking distance or just a short drive from the home.
