Welcome to La Casa del Bosque del Auga, a vacation home nestled in the heart of nature in Mondariz, Pontevedra, Galicia.
Our house is an ideal destination for discovering Galicia’s native riverine nature, as there are natural pools, river beaches, thermal baths, spas, spring-fed fountains, and tourist sites featuring ancient and medieval history in the immediate vicinity, as well as other family-friendly tourist attractions that will captivate both adults and children.
IN JULY AND AUGUST, THE MINIMUM STAY IS SIX NIGHTS. CHECK-IN ON SUNDAY, CHECK-OUT ON SATURDAY. IN SEPTEMBER, WITH A MINIMUM RESERVATION OF THREE NIGHTS, EACH GUEST WILL RECEIVE ONE FREE ADMISSION TO THE SPA CIRCUIT AT THE PALACIO DEL AGUA IN MONDARIZ.

Just as our ancestors did, we encourage you to visit our region, where you can admire the oak, chestnut, hazel, and birch trees that grow along the banks of the river that flows through the lands surrounding the house, the Tea River, and enjoy its beautiful river beaches with freely accessible recreational areas featuring tennis courts and picnic areas, as well as explore the riverside trails—with ancient mills, bridges, prehistoric crossings, and recreational areas—while listening to the constant murmur of the water that will soothe your senses.
Enjoy our medieval history by visiting—with the little ones—our two beautiful medieval castles: Sobroso Castle and Sotomayor Castle.

Accommodations at La Casa del Bosque del Auga consist of an exclusive rental of the vacation home with no shared common areas, and it is disinfected not only with the appropriate disinfectants but also with a certified ozone machine and a fogger.
The house has three bedrooms: two double bedrooms with a 150 cm x 190 cm bed, and one double bedroom with a 135 cm x 190 cm bed. A travel crib and high chair are also available upon request at no additional cost.
The house is wheelchair accessible and can accommodate up to six people.

For the more adventurous, the adventure company Arrepions organizes activities year-round, such as: Hiking, Rafting, kayaking, and hydrospeed, or visit the CEMAR equestrian center. The Mondariz Valley is the preferred destination of the company Vigoglobo, as they assure us, “thanks to its unique climate, Mondariz is always a safe bet.”
Visit the Medieval Castle of Sobroso. Also known as the castle of Doña Urraca, daughter of King Alfonso VI. Construction of the castle dates back to the 9th century. Today, it has been restored, both inside and out, and features period furnishings. It’s a small, charming castle ideal for a family visit, with a nominal admission fee of 2 €. Hours: Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tours depart every 30 minutes between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. and between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Visit the Medieval Castle of Sotomayor. . Construction of this castle began in the 12th century. It is part of the Tourist Product Club of Great Castles and Palaces of Spain and offers a wealth of attractions that make a visit a unique experience. Children can test their skills to uncover the castle’s secrets through riddles, word searches, “spot the seven differences” puzzles, incomplete sequences, and other fun games. Families who solve the puzzles in the guidebook will receive a stamped certificate recognizing them as “Castle Detectives.” A nominal fee of 5 €

Do Val Trail and River Beach: It begins in Mondariz Balneario at an outdoor recreational area with public, free tennis courts, soccer fields, and basketball courts. At the starting point is the “A Gándara” mineral-medicinal spring; its consumption is recommended due to its therapeutic properties, which were recognized by the late Dr. Enrique Peinador. Soon we’ll come to the Praia do Val Recreational Area, a spacious and spectacularly landscaped recreational zone featuring picnic areas with stone tables as well as a sports area with tennis courts.
The O Ceo River Trail and River Beach, which crosses the Roman Bridge of Cernadela and leads to beautiful river beaches called “O Ceo and Foxaco,” featuring a mill and a bar with a scenic overlook.
The "Pasos de Tatin and Molinos de Tatin" river hiking trail, featuring an architectural complex from the Neolithic period and the "Molinos de Tatin" mills. The trailhead is located 1 kilometer from the house. It is a beautiful area with an abundance of oak trees. The river was crossed by various routes, such as the Camiño Real and the Camino de Santiago. The “poldras” date back to the Neolithic period and were commonly used as “stream crossings” of incalculable age.
Carballo da Armada Hiking Trail. Picnic area with a century-old oak tree set within a beautiful nature reserve. According to popular legend, this oak was planted by Lambrico, the grandson of Mondrico, the Suebi founder of Mondariz. The trailhead is located 100 meters from the house.
Da Freixa River Trail and Beach. From the bridge on the N-120 road that crosses the Tea River, the river trail begins, leading to the A Freixa recreational area. We’ll pass by an equestrian center, a recreational area set up like a gymkhana course, and a large three-story mill that’s now a restaurant, before arriving at the A Freixa recreational area, which features picnic tables and a ball game area.
