Excellent! Very clean and comfortable, and convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Pleasant to sit on patio mornings and evenings and watch birds, have coffee or a refreshment, and watch the birds. Didn’t want to leave!
We loved our two weeks in Tubac. The casita was ideal. We could enjoy peace and quiet and a beautiful view from our front porch and go exploring when we wanted more excitement. This was one of the cleanest and best equipped vrbos we have stayed in. I highly recommend.
The location and access were perfect for us as we were in the area for birdwatching and specifically for the annual Common Black Hawk flight through Tubac. We often left pre-dawn and had a couple late evenings. We were able to come and go at atypical hours without bothering anyone. Loved sitting out on the back patio with refreshments on hot afternoons even though our visit coincided with a record heat wave (four straight days of 100F temps in March). We could not have happier with our stay.
We visit many places on short getaways like we did here. Somehow, this place has a way of letting you put down whatever "things" you brought with you. Not gone, but lighter and less noticeable. It felt so comfy right from the start. We even called it "home" unintentionally a couple of times. The property is also a visiting birder's paradise this time of the year! There was a hiccup with check-in but Madeline responded right away and went above and beyond to make the situation right. It was obvious how much she cared about her guests having a good experience. We would recommend booking with her without reservations!
This casita in a quiet little neighborhood near Tubac was perfect for our 3 week stay. We had everything we needed to be perfectly comfortable and the view of the Santa Rita Mts. was fantastic.
I've been renting for almost 2 month and I can say its very quiet and comfortable place, and the plus of being surrounded by nature. Well equipped in every room, full kitchen, living room is nice and comfortable too. Madeline its very helpfull and considerated, will definitely come back again in the future.
Enjoyed my home away from home. Well stocked kitchen, amazing views of the Santa Rita’s, lots of linens and blankets. The owner was helpful, attentive and responsive. I would recommend this property.

Birding trip
Spent 6 nights at this cute casita. Great location for our day trips around the area. House had everything we needed. Some things could use upgrading like the ragged rugs in the bathroom. All in all very nice trip. We would stay here again.

Casita near Tubac
location not what we expected. A few problems with appliances. One coffee pot didn’t work. The toaster burned our toast. The spare coffee pot was very dirty. Otherwise the house was very clean. Nice to have washer and dryer. A bit expensive compared to other stays in Tubac. It’s not bad.
A peaceful casita so close to the amazing village of Tubac
We absolutely enjoyed our 3 weeks at this cozy casita. You have privacy and quiet (although you could hear a bit of noise from the highway but just a bit, not enough to bother us at all).
There is a queen bed in one room and a very comfortable daybed in the 2nd bedroom.
We loved seeing the sun come up over the mountains in the morning and set over the mountains in the other direction in the evening. Hard to beat the desert colours!
Tubac was a few minutes drive away and there's always something going on! Check out Elvira for the best authentic Mexican food (and amazing decor!). The de Anza trail right out of Tubac was a beautiful walk, as are so many other trails close by. Tumacacori mission is just a few mins away. Many interesting historical spots around here.
Madeline and Karen were responsive to any questions and very helpful.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful spot that is close to many different things to see and do.
We'd love to come back!
Our stay in Tubac couldn’t have been better. This is a great place to stay. Host is attentive and accommodations are perfect in the beautiful desert.
Quiet and relaxing. Host was very engaged, helpful and quick to respond to queries. Location was perfect … easy access to highway, and close to town (~5 min) and golf course (~8 min). Lots of birds in morning and evening and beautiful view of mountains from back porch area (in shade during late afternoon). Scary dark at night (dark skies area) but great if you like to stargaze and have a flashlight. Property had all comforts of home and felt very safe. Would definitely return.
We absolutely loved Madeline’s little casita in Tubac. It was spotless, comfortable, private, quiet, and well appointed. Very comfortable bed, fluffy armchairs, great couch. The kitchen was perfect for our stay and had everything we needed.
And the view of the mountains, sunrises, sunsets, the twinkling stars…just magical.
Every morning we woke up to the chorus of the birds!
Madeline, the owner, is friendly and helpful, and had great suggestions for us.
The house is just a few minutes from the artsy town center.
We’ll definitely be back!
Thanks, Madeline, for sharing your little slice of paradise with us.
Exceptionally well appointed rental unit made this a more than comfortable stay. We had everything we needed and Madeline was an exceptionally considerate host. Perfect.
Madeline consistently communicates. Pays attention to detail. I mentioned a fire pit would be a great addition. 2 days later one was made and ready to use. The Coronavirus changed our plans. Yikes. Madeline was extremely understanding. I would highly recommend this Casita for those looking to be somewhat out of the city but not far from grocery shopping or hiking. A pleasant stay. Looking forward to more adventures by Tubac 2021.
