The location of this property is excellent and the view from the balcony is amazing, especially when there are fireworks in Valletta. There are many restaurants and convenience food options within close proximity or a relatively short work down the promenade. The ferry is also nearby and public transportation is readily available almost right outside the door. The apartment was sparsely furnished -- only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel per person, minimal dishware, nothing extra. The beds and bed linens were just OK. The shower curtains needed to be washed. The entryway to the building was filthy and dark. The property listing on VRBO provided almost no information about amenities. Although check-in was supposed to be after 3pm, the unit was still being cleaned when we arrived around 6pm. We had told the host that we expected to arrive around 7pm, but didn't expect that the unit wouldn't be ready until then. When we arrived, there was no key in the lockbox because the cleaning staff was using it. When we called the provided number for check-in issues, there was no answer. We rang the buzzer for the apartment and the cleaning person answered. With some prodding, he let us put our luggage in the unit while he finished cleaning so we could grab a bite without all of our luggage. There were no trash bags in the trash bins and no extra ones in the unit. Overall we were happy with the unit, but a few modest upgrades would make it much more comfortable.
